The past two weeks haven’t been memorable for the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. On the latest episodes of SmackDown, the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline launched brutal attacks on him. However, The American Nightmare showed exactly why he is the people’s champion. After the taping of next week’s episode of SmackDown ended, he took some time to address the crowd.

To entertain the crowd, Cody Rhodes superkicked a giant Prime bottle. However, The American Nightmare realized his mistake and became concerned about losing his Prime sponsorship. In the end, he thanked the crowd for the opportunity to have a double taping in front of them. Amidst all the chaos, Rhodes didn’t forget to pay tribute to Kevin Owens for helping him while fighting his own battles.

Unfortunately, it looks like The Prizefighter will miss SummerSlam PLE, just like his friend Randy Orton, after what happened on the latest episode of SmackDown. After the babyface duo defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in the main event, The Bloodline decimated both of them. The dominant faction even put the champ through a table, setting up an advantage for Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam.

The Bloodline has reminded Rhodes not to mess with them week after week. The former Stardust will defend his Undisputed WWE title against the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief at SummerSlam. It won’t be surprising if the result is influenced by The Bloodline’s shenanigans. Moreover, many fans are clamoring for Roman Reigns to finally make his return.

Cody Rhodes credited the pro wrestling fans for making him the world champion

When Cody Rhodes defeated Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania XL, he had the support of many fans. The American Nightmare credited the pro wrestling fans who wanted him to finish the story rather than The Rock. He spoke about what the win at the Biggest Stage of Them All meant to him.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet on The Insight podcast, he stated that the world title was with him because of the fans. He felt a strong connection with the audience, and that’s how he was able to finish his story. The 39-year-old star said that he wanted to do everything for their happiness.

The reason is sitting here now, is solely because of pro wrestling fans. Maybe I connected with them to a certain point where they wanted me to finish the story. I never think about how much I did for the fans, it has always been it's my job and I am supposed to do that in general. I should give everything to the fans.

Rhodes has indeed been a fighting champion since he won the title. First, he defended the title against fellow Georgian AJ Styles at Backlash in France and defeated him again at Clash at the Castle. The American Nightmare also defeated U.S. Champion Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia.
