Cody Rhodes has been a top star in WWE. He has been making history with every step he takes lately. As the Undisputed Champion, he has been representing the best of WWE. However, recently, he made such bold comments that they might not make his usual good impact on some people.

Speaking on the Behind the Turnbuckle podcast, the American Nightmare revealed his red flag in professional wrestling. He implicitly called out the active legends in wrestling who claim to put over young talents as hypocrites. The Undisputed Champion stated that this is a selfish business, and everyone here is for themselves. Therefore, it is a pretty hollow statement to say that they want good for others but not for themselves.

It was a pretty solid thought that didn’t seem to align with his persona. Several legends have come back and have made claims to put over the young talent. Some notable names include Edge, CM Punk, and John Cena. However, Rhodes never mentioned any particular person.

I would rather you tell me straight up, 'I'm here for some of ya'll, and I'm here for myself.' This a selfish, competitive business. I like the most transparent people. 'Here's what I'd like to do, let's do it.' Whenever I hear, 'I'm here for the young guys,' which is not often and not anytime soon I've heard it. In my mind, instantly, I'm like, 'That's the biggest red flag ever.

Besides, Cody Rhodes is a pretty respectful star for his peers and legends. He is well known among the fans for his connection with the WWE Universe. What is intriguing is that recently, a WWE legend himself talked about a heel turn for the American Nightmare, and days later, Rhodes dropped such statements. One wonders if a heel run might be the path for the 38-year-old in the near future.

Cody Rhodes praised Triple H for having an open mind

Cody Rhodes had a lot of advice for the veterans who tried to come back. He said that in today’s business, a rigid mentality will not take one anywhere. There is a need for mutual respect and having an open mind while putting in the work. Speaking of that, he gave the example of Triple H as the one having an open mind in the locker room as a veteran.

During a conversation on the Behind the Turnbuckle podcast, Rhodes had a choice of words for the old-timers. He said if they are coming back, they should be more keen on understanding the mindset of young talents. Unlike proving themselves and boasting about their feats.

I’ve noticed talent today, especially younger talent, are more independent-minded than they’re ever been. They're more strong willed than they've ever been about what they can do. So, if you’re one of these guys coming in, having an open mind is the greatest thing ever. Triple H being the prime example,
