Cody Rhodes has been reigning at the top of WWE as the Undisputed WWE Champion. Currently on the best run of his career, there looks to be no unforeseeable retirement for The American Nightmare as of now. However, recently, Rhodes surprisingly provided a timeline for his farewell from professional wrestling.

Speaking on The Flagrant podcast, Rhodes shared that he intends to wrestle actively in WWE until he’s 45. At 39, he believes he can go full-time for the next 5–6 years but aims to retain his strength into his later years. Therefore, he’s likely to step back from full-time wrestling after reaching 45.

I’m 39 now. I feel like I can go full-time, 100%, and be the best and be at my best and be the standard until 45. I don’t know why I’ve kind of put that number in my mind.

Rhodes elucidated that his daughter is three and he does not want to be a father who is sporadically available for her. Hence, he plans to shift focus to family life after 45, wrapping up his active WWE career for good.

Only time will tell how Cody Rhodes is going to end his career in professional wrestling. However, as of now, he has a huge matchup looming at Crown Jewel against the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. It will be interesting to see how he plans to take on The Ring General in this war for supremacy.

Cody Rhodes gave his thoughts on body shaming in professional wrestling

Cody Rhodes talked about several topics in his recent interview with The Flagrant. He even discussed why his initial run with WWE was a failure. During the conversation, Rhodes stated that his physique was one of the significant reasons behind his underwhelming run.

The American Nightmare said that being a professional wrestler, one should definitely be in good shape. He supported his point by claiming that since fans pay thousands of dollars to watch wrestlers, they can body shame all they want.

We have what we call effort-shamers, and then you’ll hear fans [say] you can’t body shame wrestlers. What are you talking about? We’re standing there half-naked and you’ve paid hundreds of dollars to [see us]. You can body shame me all you want!

The Undisputed Champion admitted that his answers might seem toxic, but they have done the work for him. Therefore, as per the 39-year-old, having a good physique is necessary for being a professional wrestler without any excuse of being body shamed.
