WWE went all out in their efforts to give Saturday Night’s Main Event a truly retro feel. They used the company’s old logo, the referees dressed in blue shirts, the design of the arena was different, and they brought out various legends like Jesse Ventura and Jimmy Hart. Another thing that made fans very nostalgic was a special gift presented to Cody Rhodes by Triple H.

At the show, Rhodes was set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. While making his entrance, he came out wearing the 1988-1998 version of the belt. This title is commonly referred to as “The Winged Eagle.” The WWE Universe was elated to see this version of the belt make a return. Many fans even regard this version as the best design ever for the historic championship.

A few days ago, Triple H posted a video on his X account. The clip featured him gifting ‘something special’ to the American Nightmare for his championship defense at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The gift was kept a secret then, but fans now finally knew what was in the box.

Rhodes also looked incredible with this belt around his waist, and held it up high after beating Owens in the main event. Although many fans want the title to stick around, this unfortunately will not be happening. The Game had already clarified that this belt would be returning for one night only, and Rhodes would once again be seen with his gold belt from the next appearance onwards.

Cody Rhodes claims Bayley and Randy Orton are the current locker room leaders

Although Cody Rhodes is arguably the face of WWE right now, he does not consider himself to be much of a backstage leader. In fact, while speaking on Jazzys World TV, he said that this honor went to two other veterans of the industry who are both currently on the SmackDown brand.

Cody Rhodes believed that Bayley and Randy Orton were the captains of the locker room. They were two highly reliable individuals, and one could approach them at any moment for help. The Role Model has been praised for this by another wrestling superstar, Mercedes Mone, who calls her a natural leader.

Like if you got a captain, the ‘C’ on the jersey, it’s probably her and Randy Orton. In terms of you need something done, ‘Hey, such and such doesn’t need to be late anymore. Hey, we need energy for this show.’ She’s the locker room leader, and she should be.

The Undisputed WWE Champion has long credited Randy Orton for being a mentor to him. The two superstars share a lot of history, both on-screen and backstage. It appears that the Viper is now using his 24 years of experience in the wrestling industry to mentor others in the locker room as well.
