Cody Rhodes completed his journey at WrestleMania XL by defeating Roman Reigns against all odds. Several factors contributed to The American Nightmare achieving the impossible, including the return of legends like John Cena and The Undertaker, who helped him win. However, the current World Heavyweight Champion referred to Seth Rollins as the MVP of WrestleMania XL.
In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Cody Rhodes discussed his history with Seth Rollins, both as a rival and a partner. The 39-year-old star also called Rollins the MVP of WrestleMania XL, noting that he wrestled on both nights. Rhodes also talked about their trilogy of matches and expressed his desire to face Rollins again in a 60-minute Iron Man match.
However, Rhodes doubted whether the WWE Universe wanted to see another match between the two stars. Speaking of Rollins, he has been sidelined with an injury he sustained following Bronson Reed‘s vicious Tsunami attack a few weeks ago on Raw. There is no concrete news on when The Visionary will return to the squared circle.
I'd love to do … he is such a great in-ring wrestler, in addition to all the other things he is — if I had to go 60 minutes with anybody, I'd certainly like to test myself with somebody like him in an Iron Man setting. But, again, I don't know if anybody wants to see another one. We really did good with the three we had.Cody Rhodes via Inside The Ropes
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old star defeated his close friend Kevin Owens and retained his title at Bash In Berlin. However, there is no time for the champion to rest, as the new Bloodline leader, Solo Sikoa, is already looking for a fight. In the upcoming episode of SmackDown, The American Nightmare will respond to the challenge issued to him.
A musician filed a lawsuit against Cody Rhodes, WWE, and Fanatics
A musician named Wesley Eisold, who is also the vocalist for the band American Nightmare, has filed a lawsuit against Cody Rhodes and WWE. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants violated terms related to merchandise using the phrase “American Nightmare.” Eisold has accused them of breaching the contract.
According to the court documents, Eisold made a deal with Rhodes and AEW, in which the wrestler paid him $30,000. The agreement allowed Rhodes to use the “American Nightmare” moniker.
It came under certain conditions. However, one of these conditions was violated when the world champion’s name or any imagery related to him was not 75% smaller than the “American Nightmare” phrase.
It is also alleged that fans of the band American Nightmare often accidentally purchase Rhodes’ WWE merchandise. The court will decide whether the agreement remains enforceable after he left the Jacksonville-based company and joined WWE. The renowned musician has held the trademark for the name since 2016 for use in music, clothing, and merchandising services.
