This week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes opened the show. It was a segment to address the next challenger in his reign, Logan Paul. The two stars had a heated confrontation before they made their match official. Following the show, the Maverick took to social media to reveal an undisclosed injury to the American Nightmare.

The Social Media Megastar posted a number of stories on his Instagram. He tried to boost his morale by boasting about himself. However, he noticed that Cody Rhodes couldn’t use his middle finger to hold the mic. Logan Paul suggested that he planned to attack that particular finger of the American Nightmare to get an advantage over him in their match.

Furthermore, the United States Champion also posted a picture of himself holding the Undisputed Championship, making it clear that he is coming for the crown. Besides, the severity of the injury has not yet been disclosed. However, he might likely have hurt his finger during his match against AJ Styles at Backlash.

Moreover, Paul also shared a response to his match on X through an interesting post. It seems like he is quite determined to dethrone Rhodes. Only time will tell who is going to walk out of Saudi Arabia as a double champion. Keeping the performance of the Maverick in Saudi Arabia in mind, the match is certain to be a banger between the two top stars.

Former WWE manager thinks Cody Rhodes might retire The United States Championship

As confirmed by Cody Rhodes recently on social media, his match against Logan Paul is going to be for “all the gold.” Many fans speculated on the ending of the bout, as WWE might have some huge plans. Amid all that, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell shared his views over this Champion vs. Champion match at the King and Queen of the Ring 2024.

Speaking on SmackTalk, Mantell claimed that there is no chance the American Nightmare is going to drop his Undisputed Championship at this point. Therefore, the only possible way is to win both belts in Saudi Arabia. Besides, Rhodes might even retire the United States Championship from WWE programming for good as a tribute to its legacy.

Logan Paul is not gonna win that. And if it is, say Cody wins and it's for the other belt, I think they're gonna retire the belt that Logan Paul has. Doesn't mean anything, does it? Just because somebody's got a belt, I mean, all the companies I worked for had one belt, and the tag belts

Regardless of what Mantell said, Rhodes is imminently going to win because WWE has been bracing him as the next face; making him lose at this point so early would not make sense. Also, the US Championship has a long history in WWE. Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see how WWE is going to plan the mega-match later this month.
