After Cody Rhodes‘ 5-star match against AJ Styles at Backlash, fans were excited to find out who the champion would be facing at the next PLE. With the Phenomenal One currently occupied by the King of the Ring Tournament, WWE has announced a new challenger for the WWE Undisputed Championship in the form of Logan Paul.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Nick Aldis told the American Nightmare that his challenger for the King & Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia had been decided. This led to Logan Paul’s entrance music being hit, who came out to confront his opponent.
The Social Media Sensation mentioned that he wanted to main event the King & Queen of the Ring PLE. He wanted to do so in a champion vs. champion match against none other than Cody Rhodes. The Maverick added that this would truly kick off the ‘Logan Paul Levesque era’. He further tooted his own horn by claiming that he had the greatest rookie year in professional wrestling. This eventually led to him becoming the longest-reigning champion in the WWE at the moment
Rhodes shot back by calling the United States Champion self-centered, disrespectful, and taking credit for something that he didn’t deserve. The segment ended with both champions raising their championship belts and staring each other down. The WWE Universe was excited after this match was announced. Fans felt that similar to his match at Backlash, the former AEW star was set to have another classic PLE match for his WWE Undisputed Championship.
Cody Rhodes sends two-word message to Logan Paul after their segment on SmackDown
Before SmackDown even went off the air, Cody Rhodes made sure to let his opponent know what he was in for. The 38-year-old simply tweeted out ‘2 Belts’, letting everybody know what was to come in the future. This match is also a chance for both competitors to be forever etched in the history books.
The winner of this match at King & Queen of the Ring will become only the second-ever person to hold a world title and the United States Championship simultaneously. This feat was first achieved by Seth Rollins in 2015. Further, Rhodes winning the United States Championship would also make him a Grand Slam champion.
This is also not the first time Logan Paul has fought for a world championship in Saudi Arabia. The 29-year-old took on Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2022. Although he was unsuccessful in his quest, he proved to the WWE Universe that he was ready to hang with the others in the main event scene.
