In less than three weeks, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes will collide at Crown Jewel to determine the 2025 Crown Jewel Champion. The two champions met on this week’s Raw and engaged in a war of words. ‘The Visionary’ brazenly claimed that he didn’t care about what the fans thought of him, let alone those complaining on the internet.
Rollins was just out to seek Rhodes’ opinion of him. At first, the former AEW EVP said that it’s complicated when it shouldn’t have been that way. The Undisputed WWE Champion stated that Rollins changed his life from the night he returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38.
Moreover, Rhodes was grateful to have stood across from ‘The Architect’ inside Hell in a Cell despite having a torn pectoral muscle. It helped the ‘Prodigal Son’ realize that he’s tenacious enough not to give up, no matter what.
Last, but certainly not least, the biggest impact Rollins had on Rhodes’ career was when he acted as his shield against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. It brought the WWE title to the Rhodes household, something that eluded the late great Dusty Rhodes, but his son made it happen.
Coming to his evaluation of The Vision‘s leader, Rhodes affirmed that the former could be the absolute best if he really wanted to.

However, that version of Rollins wouldn’t hide behind his goons, quipped ‘The American Nightmare’. Rollins hit back by revealing the same Rolex watch that Rhodes gifted him at WrestleMania last year. ‘The Drip God’ said he’d never worn it until last night. Rollins then underscored how Rhodes so often goes on to mention in interviews that he’s the right man to carry forward the pro wrestling industry.
Rollins took offense to that by questioning whether Rhodes didn’t consider him good enough for that role. The ‘QB1’, at last, threw a couple of curveballs at his foe by asking whether their bout at Crown Jewel would be fair and square. The final nail in the coffin was Rhodes asking Rollins how many times the World Heavyweight Champion has beaten him in the trilogy of matches they have had.
Cody Rhodes was pitched to lose his WWE Championship at Wrestlepalooza
The entire landscape of Crown Jewel wouldn’t have been this way had WWE agreed to what two of its top stars had in mind. As per a report from BodySlam, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre pitched for ‘The American Nightmare’ to lose his Undisputed WWE title to ‘The Scottish Warrior’ at Wrestlepalooza, with Randy Orton accidentally costing his former Legacy stablemate. However, it didn’t come to fruition.

Many fans have come in support of what Rhodes and McIntyre had intended to do. WWE CCO Triple H has come under the scanner once again as his polarizing stay as the lead booker of the main roster continues to peeve the audience. Had he pulled the trigger on McIntyre ousting Rhodes, it would’ve handed the Scot a much-needed run with the world title.

After going down on Saturday night, the ‘Scottish Psychopath’ had an interesting reaction where he basically trolled himself with a self-mocking meme post. The rivalry between Rhodes and McIntyre is expected to take a backseat for the time being as the erstwhile Stardust prepares to take care of Seth Rollins in Perth.
However, if one paid attention to The Visionary’s closing statement on Raw, he vowed to dispatch the ex-AEW star by any means necessary. That could even mean Rollins being in cahoots with McIntyre to screw up Rhodes at Crown Jewel. It’d help the former Shield member open his scorecard against Rhodes, as the latter has never been defeated by Rollins in singles competition.
