Cody Rhodes comes from one of the most legendary families in WWE history. Recently, The American Nightmare opened up about his legacy and the special role his daughter, Liberty, plays in it. He shared that if given the chance, he’d love to incorporate her voice into his entrance music once she’s a little older.
Speaking on Stephanie’s Places, Rhodes shared that he wants his daughter, Liberty, to record a voiceover for the prologue of his entrance theme. He revealed that the iconic “Wrestling has more than one royal family” line currently features his voice, but he hopes to pass that moment on to Liberty in the future.
I recorded that weeks after I left WWE the first time (in 2016). To this day, we still use that audio sample. My goal actually, I don’t know if she would want to do this, but the beginning of my song and the voiceover that exists, I’d love my daughter [Liberty] to do it at one point.

Rhodes also expressed his hope that his daughter will experience professional wrestling as deeply as he did in his early days. Additionally, the Undisputed WWE Champion reflected on how the prologue of his entrance theme came to be. He revealed that after leaving WWE in 2016, he wanted his entrance music to make a bold statement, and the now-iconic line felt like the perfect declaration to the entire world.
Since his return to WWE, The American Nightmare has brought his daughter to the ring a few times, with her most memorable appearance being at WrestleMania 39 during his match against Roman Reigns. With Cody set to face John Cena at this year’s WrestleMania, it will be interesting to see if he includes his daughter in another special moment on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Cody Rhodes talked about how he reinvented himself following his WWE exit
In 2016, Cody Rhodes made the shocking decision to leave WWE after growing frustrated with his ‘Stardust’ gimmick. Following his departure, The American Nightmare transformed the independent wrestling scene, helping put several promotions on the map. Recently, he reflected on how he reinvented himself after parting ways with WWE.

Speaking on Stephanie’s Places, the Undisputed WWE Champion shared that he always believed leaving WWE meant there was no turning back. The 39-year-old admitted that if he hadn’t reinvented himself, he could have easily become a laughing stock. For Rhodes, proving himself wasn’t just an option—it was the only way forward.
I had to create stories about, ‘oh this person was pushing me down, I’ve got to show them,’ you need all of that. When you leave anywhere, you have to legit burn the boats cause the fear is, if you’re out in the ocean, you’re going to want to swim back.

The Prodigal Son embarked on an incredible journey in 2016, making waves in promotions like RevPro, Impact, and ROH before helping create AEW alongside The Elite. However, his ultimate goal was always to cement his legacy in WWE. He accomplished that when he made his triumphant return at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. Not only did he establish himself as a top star, but he has also become the quarterback.
Cody Rhodes paid tribute to The Elite on Monday Night Raw
This week on Monday Night Raw, Cody Rhodes and John Cena went head-to-head in a heated promo battle. Both stars pulled no punches, delivering fiery words to get under each other’s skin ahead of WrestleMania 41. While The Cenation Leader had plenty to say, it was Rhodes who had the final word, capping off the exchange with a bold Cross-Rhodes.

After hitting Cena with a Cross-Rhodes, The American Nightmare paid tribute to The Elite with a couple of iconic gestures. Before pointing to the WrestleMania sign, he flashed the ‘Too Sweet’ hand sign, followed by a ‘gun bang’ motion. It was a subtle nod to his past, showing that even as he reaches new heights, he hasn’t forgotten his old friends.
With less than three weeks until WrestleMania, the 39-year-old faces one of the biggest challenges of his career. In a shocking heel turn, Cena has vowed to become the new WWE Champion and “ruin wrestling forever.” The stage is set for an epic showdown—can Rhodes, who stands for everything wrestling represents, stop the Hollywood star from carrying out his bold threat?
