Over a cup of coffee, Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison and Los Angeles Lakers GM, Rob Pelinka began discussing a startling Luka Doncic – Anthony Davis trade. The NBA world now has a photo from that encounter. A picture of both of them at Ascension Coffee in Hotel Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas has been made public by WFAA.

It has been established that this photo was taken on January 7. This was the day Harrison brought Pelinka to the outlet, according to ESPN. It was taken at 12:06 PM by a man from Dallas named Asad Munir, unaware of its importance. Little did he know, this conversation between the two GMs would shake up the NBA on another level.

Less than a month after this meeting, on February 2, the Lakers traded Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round selection to the Mavs. This was in exchange for Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris. Also, Harrison, who made what was possibly the most surprising transaction in NBA history, is receiving a lot of hate mails in Dallas.

As per reports, the Mavericks took the initiative after Harrison quietly offered Doncic to the Lakers. He didn’t even get in touch with someone from another organization. So, he solely talked about a deal with Pelinka for the five-time All-Star. This meant that there was no bidding war. In addition, fans were left stunned after this image was released, putting their opinions on various social media handles.
