Colby Covington likely to get fight Tyron Woodley in September

After a three year holding pattern, a major welterweight fight finally take place. Colby Covington will will be clashing with his former teammate and also on-time friend Tyron Woodley. According to reports, both fighters have agreed to fight on September 19. However, the venue is yet to be finalized.

According to Ben Askren who discussed the fight with Ariel Helwani, “The Chosen One” always dominated Covington. But this time, the two are training separately and it would be quite interesting to watch the fight.

The fight has been several times tried to be booked but everytime the fight somehow got cancelled. With these cancellations, the animosity between the two kept increasing.

In an interview, Covington mentioned that he had a very intention of becoming a professional wrestler. However, Covington has seen some serious cardio. Besides, his KO power is very weak. His rights fights out of 15 have come via decision.

Woodley was the first to tease this story via his Instagram account. The fight is yet be finalized by the UFC. But it still looks the fight is almost confirmed.

It would be a great opportunity for both the fighters to settle their long awaited feud. Additionally, it will put the winner right back in contention for either Kamaru Usman or Gilbert Burns.

Colby Covington has also not said yet where he is training for the fight. Now, he will have to find better ways to make his performance better.
