Colby Covington’s coach confirmed that Covington is interested in coaching alongside Jorge Masvidal at TUF
Just after UFC Fight Night Hall vs Silva, UFC President Dana White announced that The Ultimate Fighter’s new season is going to be held in March or April next year. This time the weight class that is to be included is lightweight and Welterweight and with this announcement the predictions who are going to be the coach for this season are getting heated up.
In a recent interview the coach of Colby Covington, Daniel Valverde was asked about Covington’s interest in coaching at TUF. To this he says, “I know that Colby is ready to do that show and didn’t hear from the UFC yet. But he might do, we don’t know what’s gonna happen. Let’s hope so. It will be great to make this fight even bigger”.
“Let’s wait, and I think both Masvidal and Covington are great fighters and both can be great coaches as well”. He also added, “It is the right time to make the fight happen. They both need to get paid and it’s just the best time for the UFC. It’s probably going to be in Vegas. I wish it was in Miami as both of them are local fighters but I don’t think it will because of the pandemic”.
The brothers turned into a foe
Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal was the former training partner. Both of them were so close that it is believed that both of them almost sleep together. But because of some reason, Masvidal left the training camp and things get sore between both of them.
After winning the fight against Tryon Woodley, Covington called out Masvidal saying him “Street Judas, I want to face you next”. With being the coaches at TUF both of them will get the opportunity to settle once it for all with each other.
