Patrick Mahomes had three Super Bowl MVPs and two straight titles with a historic three-peat awaiting him. Moreover, a win against the Philadelphia Eagles could have ensured him a place in the debate over the greatest quarterback to walk the earth.

The dreams crashed down as the Kansas City Chiefs faltered in the hands of the resilient Eagles’ defense. The lopsided defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday has forced FS1’s Colin Cowherd to suggest that Mahomes’ legacy may have suffered irreparable damage.

Patrick Mahomes’ statistics—257 passing yards and three touchdowns—might appear respectable, but the context tells a different story. The Chiefs struggled offensively throughout the game, managing just 23 total yards in the first half and entering the third quarter trailing 24-0.

Much of Mahomes’ production came in the fourth quarter when the outcome was largely decided, raising questions about the overall impact of his performance. Colin Cowherd ripped into the quarterback and questioned his abilities on the recent episode of ‘The Herd’.

Mahomes this season, you started really hearing about it in September and October. If he wins a third, I think we have a new GOAT. Mahomes finished the regular season as the 16th-highest passer rating and just turned in the ugliest Super Bowl performance arguably of our lives.

Colin Cowherd stated

Cowherd went on to express that more than losing, Patrick Mahomes looked shaken and took no measures to adjust accordingly. Earlier, Stephen A. Smith also spoke on similar lines in an episode of ‘The First Take’ following the Super Bowl LIX.

It’s not just that he lost. It’s just for the second time in a Super Bowl, he was awful. Didn’t adjust, overwhelmed, looked shook. It’s not just losing. Whatever that was leaves a mark.

New England Patriots’ ex-QB points out “blowout losses” as to why Patrick Mahomes is not the GOAT

Brian Hoyer, who played in New England alongside Tom Brady admitted that he is the GOAT and Mahomes is far from that conversation.

In his speech, Hoyer pointed out that Patrick Mahomes had two blowouts despite Tom Brady losing three Bowls. Brady played ten Super Bowls, winning seven times, including a final one against the Kansas City Chiefs while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“The one thing that never happened to the Patriots in all those years of Tom Brady, they never got their assess whooped like this,” Hoyer said.

In both of Mahomes’ Super Bowl losses, There has been a considerable difference between the scores. In Super Bowl LV, The Kansas City Chiefs managed only nine points as opposed to the Bucs’ 31. In Super Bowl LIX, there was an 18-point difference between the Eagles and the Chiefs.

Two blowouts while Tom Brady’s two losses against the New York Giants had been closely fought. In the loss to the Eagles, the Patriots had been short of just nine points. In fact, FOX ranks one of his wins as the worst Brady Super Bowl ever partook in.
