The bodycam footage has been released on the Law&Crime Network channel on YouTube which shows the police arresting Tony Mitchell. From the start itself it seems Mitchell knew what he had done wrong and started pleading with the police.

He even tried to make them understand that the stuff in the police did not belong to them and it was of his friends. “None of that stuff is mine. I swear,” he pleaded but the police wasn’t bothered. He also appeared to be in tears when the police moved him to another car.

Immediately after his arrest Alabama head coach Nick Saban suspended Tony Mitchell. Nick Saban had commented that there’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time and Mitchell should have been more responsible.

Everybody’s got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You have to be responsible about who you’re with, who you’re around, what you do and who you associate yourself with, along with the situations you put yourself in.”

Tony Mitchell was arrested along with co-passenger Christopher Lewis of Valley Grande who has been found guilty on the same charges.
