Jerry Jones may not have the luxury of interviewing coordinators who are part of playoff teams. But he has the luxury of speaking with the likes of Deion Sanders and a few others. However, Prime Time is enjoying his current situation with the Colorado Buffaloes.

That has seen the program work to bring in a lot of NIL deals for recruits. They have also given Sanders a free leash on how he runs the team, which is evident in the number of high-profile coaches he brought in. All of those benefits brought a 9-3 run this past regular season.

However, the Colorado Buffaloes still lack the recruiting power to lure top recruits or transfer portal players the way other football powerhouses do. Deion Sanders is trying to change that and knows the first step is to ensure there are enough NIL deals. On that note, a new revelation from NFL Network reporter Jane Slater has brought up a concerning situation.

Two people with knowledge of the situation tell me Sanders approached Colorado AD Rick George Tuesday about additional money for NIL and his staff. He was met with resistance. The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out.

The reporter added that she tried to reach out multiple times to the Buffaloes’ head coach for a comment but has not received any. If this report turns out to be true, it could be a step backwards for the program. Any rift between them and Jerry Jones could step in and make Deion Sanders an offer he may not refuse.

Deion Sanders could get competition from another former Dallas Cowboys star

Deion Sanders might be tempted to leave the Colorado Buffaloes if Jerry Jones offers him a chance to become the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. However, the owner-cum GM is not placing all his eggs in one basket. ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reported another candidate Jones has in the pipeline.

Cowboys now have requested permission to interview Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for their head coaching job, per source.

Kellen Moore is a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback who was also the offensive coordinator for a long time. Before hiring Mike McCarthy, the team considered Moore as a candidate to take over. Now as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, he has helped Saquon Barkley post a 2000 rushing yards season.

Ironically, not rushing the ball enough was the reason McCarthy wanted Moore off his staff. On the contrary, his pass heavy offense involving Dak Prescott was the second best in the league. Jones has always held Kellen Moore highly. Therefore, he will likely weigh both options before taking a call.
