Comedian Mo’Nique’s advice to Shannon Sharpe goes viral as $50 million lawsuit hangs over ESPN analyst’s head
Former NFL player Shannon Sharpe has found himself in hot waters after latest $50 million lawsuit filed against him by an OF model.

Shannon Sharpe
Former NFL great Shannon Sharpe has been making the headlines lately, but for all the wrong reasons in his personal life. A few days ago, Tony Buzbee and Gabriella Zuniga(an OnlyFans model) filed a $50 million complaint against Sharpe on April 20, claiming the former NFL player sexually abused Zuniga, whom he met in Los Angeles in 2023.
Social media users unearthed a recording from a 2024 edition of Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast in which famous comedian Mo’Nique made light of Sharpe’s dating habits. This was just days after he was hit with a multi-million dollar lawsuit that he and his legal team have so far rejected. Mo’Nique’s words have gone viral on the internet.
You don’t need no 26-year-old girl, you don’t need no 36-year-old girl…take your old a** and get you an old bi*ch out there that can love you old. You trying to hang out with these young bi*ches, you can’t do it Shannon, you just can’t do it!
Mo’Nique told Shannon Sharpe,
She really tried to give him some game and he sat there giggling, now look https://t.co/OHn2dzjToD pic.twitter.com/N4Qdp7fZs8

In addition to intentionally causing emotional anguish, Sharpe’s ex-girlfriend is suing him for $50 million, alleging that he committed assault, sexual assault, battery, and abuse. Gabriella “Gabbi” Zuniga, a model for OnlyFans, was identified by Sharpe and his legal team as the ‘Jane Doe’ who filed the April 20 Nevada lawsuit.
It’s safe to say that Mo’Nique warned Sharpe regarding this matter over a year ago. Per reports, Sharpe met the OF model in 2023, so the comedian’s words came a year after he met Zuniga. Despite the comedian warning Sharpe about his actions, he did not listen. Now, Sharpe finds himself at the center of a huge controversy and offence.

Sharpe responded to the commotion by saying he was being shaken down, but he remained determined to erase the blot to his name. Notably, Sharpe’s attorney acknowledged that the television personality attempted to reach an out-of-court settlement by proposing “at least” $10 million. Zuniga, however, left the mediation table, apparently suggesting that she and Buzbee intend to go to court.
Stephen A. Smith chimed in on the Shannon Sharpe $50 million lawsuit case
A $50 million lawsuit in his name is the last thing Sharpe would have asked for. To make matters worse, Gabriella Zuniga is being represented by Tony Buzbee, the controversial attorney who has participated in cases similar to this one involving Jay-Z, Diddy, and Deshaun Watson.
Interestingly, Sharpe’s friend and work buddy, Stephen A. Smith, also chimed in on this sensitive situation via his YouTube channel.
They revealed some of those explicit text messages. That was uncomfortable. I don’t know if that’s a strategy that would work. One of the hardest things in the world for all of us to do is to just lay low and be quiet and let our legal team do it.
Stephen A Smith said
It’s sure that Smith is backing Sharpe per his remarks regarding this ongoing situation. However, the former NBA player did add that ‘only time will tell’ whether his friend and ESPN colleague is innocent or not.
Political commentator comes out in defense of Shannon Sharpe
With the Shannon Sharpe news all over the headlines in the USA, many people have chosen to speak out on the former NFL tight end. Some have spoken against him, while some are in favor of the media personality. Notably, renowned political commentator Candace Owens chose the latter, as she backed Sharpe’s claims of his lawsuit being ‘a shakedown.’
After seeing the text exchanges, Owens, who is renowned for her candid opinions in high-profile court cases, provided a definite assessment.
With what I have seen with the text messages so far, I do not believe this was a rape scenario. This does look like a shakedown to me.

With Sharpe waiting for the legal teams to sort this issue out, many NBA fans have shared their views on the former NFL player. Moreover, it’s just a matter of time for this issue to get resolved with both sides acting swiftly on this case.
