WWE pre-taped next week’s Black Friday edition of SmackDown right after the live broadcast of the show in Denver this week. It will serve as the go-home edition of the blue brand for Survivor Series: WarGames. And without further ado, here’s all that happened during the yet-to-be-aired episode of SmackDown. The spoilers are courtesy of BodySlam.
The said outlet listed that the proceedings began with Jey Uso beating Rusev in the quarterfinals of the ongoing The Last Time is Now tournament. Uso and Rusev had gotten through The Miz and Damian Priest in their respective first-round matchups in recent weeks. In the second quarterfinal of the tournament to determine the last WWE opponent for John Cena, LA Knight ousted The Miz.
Sheamus was originally set to battle Knight. However, as announced by WWE, an injury left him sidelined. It was revealed during this past Friday’s SmackDown that the general managers of both brands will name a replacement for ‘The Celtic Warrior’ after having a meeting. And guess what? They somehow decided it’s going to be The Miz, who had already lost to Uso.

‘The A-Lister’ didn’t make it past ‘The Megastar’ either, with Knight advancing to the semifinals of the coveted tournament. It simply means that ‘The Yeet Master’ will inevitably face ‘The Defiant One’ in the semifinals, as per the brackets shown on SmackDown. In some women’s division action, Jade Cargill ended up crashing Chelsea Green‘s “grand inauguration” segment.
‘The Hot Mess’ intended to celebrate after recently dethroning Giulia for the women’s United States title. Coming on to the women’s WarGames match developments, Charlotte Flair beat Asuka to gain the advantage for her team at Survivor Series. The lineups were finalized this past Friday with the additions of AJ Lee and Becky Lynch.
Moving on to the main event, the MFTs emerged victorious over Sami Zayn, Rey Fenix, Shinsuke Nakamura, and The Motor City Machine Guns in a traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match. Solo Sikoa was the sole survivor, but the night didn’t end well for him, as the Wyatt Sicks made their return, and Uncle Howdy laid out the former Bloodline enforcer with a Sister Abigail to close it out.
Drew McIntyre sends a message after battering Cody Rhodes on this week’s SmackDown
WWE heavily focused on creating more heat for the men’s WarGames match on SmackDown this week. In fact, the show kicked off with Paul Heyman accompanying Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul to the ring. The Usos didn’t take long coming out, and they got lectured by Heyman over the numbers game and how important it is, especially in a WarGames setting.

Jimmy Uso wondered if ‘The Wiseman’ really thought that they were there alone. Cody Rhodes‘ theme song hit right after that, with Jimmy and Jey anxiously waiting for the backup. However, Rhodes didn’t come out, and it appeared like something was wrong. The cameras rolled backstage, and it was revealed that Drew McIntyre had viciously attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion inside his tour bus.
A banged-up Rhodes was seen lying on the doorstep of the bus with his face having scars. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ posted that iconic picture on X of him walking beside Rhodes, who could be seen rendered ineffective in an upside-down manner. McIntyre’s caption read, “No Scotland. No party.” The Ayr-born wrestler is obviously referring to his nation qualifying for their first FIFA World Cup appearance in 28 years after routing Denmark a few days ago.

McIntyre was also wearing the official Scotland home jersey during the SmackDown broadcast. While he’s understandably euphoric about his country’s historic feat, McIntyre knows the task at hand at Survivor Series will determine his immediate future in the company. It’s going to be absolutely pivotal for the Scot to pin Rhodes inside the WarGames structure if he intends on getting another title shot anytime soon.
