The fire of Drake-Kendrick Lamar’s feud reached the 97th Annual Oscars. On Sunday, moments before Adrien Brody took home the best actor award for ‘The Brutalist,’ comedian and host of the night, Conan O’Brien cracked a joke that drew varied responses from the crowd.

Right before the halftime call, Conan compared the moment with the Super Bowl LIX halftime show. Kendrick Lamar was given the job to entertain the football fans inside the Caesars Superdome. The Grammy winner lit up the arena with his latest hits.

Among his renditions was his infamous ‘Not Like Us’ track, which is a diss at Drake. Despite the warning and potential lawsuit on the horizon, Lamar went through with it and called out Drake live on stage.

Well, we’re halfway through the show, which means it’s time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake a pedophile.

Conan mimicked Lamar and bluntly said

Comedians thrive on the element of surprise. The crowd wasn’t expecting the Drake reference to pop up at the Oscars. Conan’s joke didn’t receive a hearty reception like Lamar’s jibe at Drake during the Super Bowl.

Has the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake settled?

Perhaps the muted reaction at the Oscars to Conan’s joke was because Lamar and Darke are no longer at odds with each other. It’s a thing of the past, and Conan poking the beehive may not yield much at this point.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Lamar and Drake reached a settlement with IHeartMedia over ‘Not Like Us’ on February 28.

The parties were able to reach a settlement satisfactory to both sides.

the document said

The feud between Lamar and Drake became talk of the music world when Drake filed a legal petition against IHeartMedia and Universal Music Group for allegedly trying to manipulate airwaves with Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ track against him. Even though the company denied all the allegations, Drake’s camp continued to put pressure and, as a form of retribution, Lamar performed the track at the Super Bowl.

We have invested massively in his music and our employees around the world have worked tirelessly for many years to help him achieve historic commercial and personal financial success.

the company’s statement read

Lamar’s performance drew mixed reviews. On one hand, African Americans praised him for his bold take while in the presence of the 47th president and right-leaning Donald Trump; the other side pictured it as the worst Super Bowl halftime show. Later, Super Bowl viewership numbers revealed that the show broke all the previous records to become the most watched halftime show ever.
