Ugo Humbert will take on Carlos Alcaraz in his next outing. With the fourth round of Wimbledon soon to start, the Frenchman will be up against the defending champion.

Humbert has had a rather tough grass season. With a semi-final run in Hertogenbosch and first-round exits in both Queen’s and Mallorca Open, the Frenchman did not have the form he would have liked entering the grass swing. However, at Wimbledon 2024, the fans witnessed a more resilient Humbert who fought his way to the fourth round.

The 16th seed survived a first-round scare against Alexander Shevchenko, where both the players won alternate sets before the Frenchman put on the burners in the fifth set. Following that, he struggled in the opening set against Botic Van de Zandschulp but still won that in straight sets.

Finally, he claimed his most recent victory against Brandon Nakashima after extremely hard-earned three sets. Having overcome so much, the Frenchman is ready for his biggest challenge yet, against Carlos Alcaraz.

I'm not afraid, I'm in a mode where I say to myself: "If you want to win, you have no choice. I'm more in action than in reflection. I'm going to try to savor it, to play my game and we'll see.

Furthermore, Humbert also revealed that he spoke with Frances Tiafoe in the locker room, who had some tips for him. Tiafoe was inches away from causing an upset but could not capitalize on his lead. However, he told Humbert to watch out for the spaces Alcaraz leaves and pounce on them.

I talked with Tiafoe in the locker room, who wasn't far away against him. He told me that there were times when Alcaraz left a little space, when he had missed a little.

Humbert will be looking forward to implementing the same when he takes on the surging Spaniard.
