Following this criticism, Bedard was asked his thoughts about this. The Canadian international claimed that he “couldn’t really care less” about what they thought. He though admitted that he will not be angry if someone said that he made a bad play.

I’m not watching broadcasts or anything; I’m playing hockey. Their job is to say what they see. I couldn’t care less what people on the outside think of me. But I won’t be b***hurt if someone says I made a bad play. It’s their job.

Several fans online would troll “Biz Nasty” for his comments. They would bring up his stats and compare his numbers to Bedard’s while blasting him.

The 39-year-old would later take to his X account to clarify his stance. While claiming that his job was to “analyze” Bissonnette did hail Bedard as an “incredible talent” in a post.

In another post, he spoke on the Chicago Blackhawks fan for having the back of Bedard and urged he “cannot” wait for him and his team to be back in the playoff mix while he tears down the league. He would later ask the fans to direct their frustration at him.

I respect the hell out of Blackhawks fans for having Bedard’s back in all this. The passion isn’t going unnoticed. Can’t wait till Chicago is back in the playoff mix and Connor is lighting the league on fire. In the meantime you can direct your frustration towards me. I can take it. I was a professional speed bag. Still am.

The 4-3 OT loss against the Oilers was the Blackhawks’ third loss in a row and their sixth defeat in the last seven games. While Bedard has been one of the shining stars of the team in another dampening season, his defensive lapses are one thing that he may need to improve going forward.
