The transfer market is an unpredictable environment to say the least. Chelsea Football Club were the latest victims of the market as they now find a number of deals threatened by the falling through of one particular player. It all began when Chelsea attempted to sign Atletico Madrid star Samu Omorodion. A fee of £35 million was agreed upon and fans were convinced of his arrival.

However, contractual complications meant that the deal collapsed. As a result of the same, Conor Gallagher‘s move to Spain has also been negatively affected. It is understood that Atletico have to make a significant number of outgoings if they are to finalize the signings of both Julian Alvarez & Gallagher.

As of now, Gallagher is still looking for clarity on the deal and has been ‘waiting’ in Spain for the last few days. The player’s medical has already been completed and he has also visited the Metropolitano Stadium.

As per reports, the Chelsea academy product is on his way back to England. Gallagher has been forced to return to Chelsea’s U21 side as the deal hangs in uncertainty.

Chelsea secure two-year extension of star man Cole Palmer

Amidst all the difficulties in the transfer market, Chelsea have secured an extension in the contract of star man Cole Palmer. The 22-year-old is one of the most important players for Enzo Maresca‘s side and was also important for The Three Lions at Euro 2024. Palmer was already under contract till 2031, with the new deal implying that he will be a Blue for nine more seasons.

Several fans claimed that it was only a desperate attempt by the club, although extending a seven-year contract did not make sense to many. Palmer however, is with his weight in gold, and was the player with the most direct goal involvements in the League. Despite having enough players to field four separate starting XIs, it is clear that Palmer will be the club’s main man.

Head coach Maresca even added that Palmer will be taking penalties this season, even before the player returned to training following the Euros. Palmer was recently spotted spending time off on vacation with a ‘mystery woman’, sending fans into excitement. Supporters will be expecting the Englishman to recreate his 22 goals and 11 assists in the top flight.
