Conor Gallagher can finally breathe a sigh of relief after Chelsea agreed terms with Atletico Madrid for his signature. The deal was finally made official on Wednesday as the Chelsea academy product emotionally bid farewell to his boyhood club. Atletico emphatically announced the signing of the Englishman after talks stalled midway due to several reasons.
Chelsea have been in close contact with Atletico Madrid ever since the Spanish side made a move for Gallagher. Players like Samu Omorodion and Joao Felix have been linked with a move to the Blues, although talks with the former have suffered irreparable damage. Gallagher’s emotional message to Chelsea went viral on social media as fans reminisced about his time in England.
