From what we can infer from the twitter spat between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier is that the Irish superstar is done with ‘The Diamond’ and is looking for someone to replace him in the super fight on July 10th. Recently after the twitter beef cooled down, Conor tweeted out last night taking in applications from fighters.
The doubt of the trilogy happening arose when the fighter from Louisiana called out the former two-division champ of falsely promising Dustin’s foundations a donation. Conor McGregor’s ego was hurt and went on to go at Dustin and his team for accusing him of such fraud. Conor called Dustin an “inbred hillbilly”.
If the trilogy is called off, it would be a huge blow for Dustin Poirier as he passed on the vacant lightweight title shot to fight the big money fight against ‘The Notorious One’. A lot of fans speculate that this might be just another drama to sell the fight.
Conor McGregor on Twitter recently asked for fighters interested in the fight. “Looking to start the foundations of a good fight you guys, who’s in? McGregor Vs…?” he wrote on his Twitter page on April 13th at 11:30 PM IST.

After Conor McGregor disputed against Dustin on Twitter, UFC fighters showed interest in the fight. Fighters from Michael Chandler, Rafael dos Anjos, Kevin Lee, and Michael Johnson responded to this tweets. This just shows how big of a superstar Conor is and the line of fighters waiting to take the fight.
Michael Chandler is one of the lightweight contenders who will be fighting for the vacant title on May 15 against Charles Oliveira. He tweeted out saying, “May 15 and July 10…book it!” on Twitter.
Former champion Rafael dos Anjos has been desperate to try and bag a fight against the superstar, McGregor and he showed interest in fighting him and wanting to fight on a ‘Red Panty Night’. Kevin Lee also wrote saying, “Lemme fit in this bih Conor McGregor and Dana White I can be ready July 10” on Twitter.
