Conor McGregor is never not in the limelight, good or bad. More questions recently arose about his combat sports return. The former UFC double-division champ teased Irish Presidency rather than a fighting date or return. However, McGregor isn’t with hat in hand. For one, his rivalry with Team Khabib will always be there.

His away time didn’t dilute his rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team either. Hence, the Irishman also targets Islam Makhachev by extension. He has also been warring with the second European KO sensation after him, Ilia Topuria. Now, he shot three targets with one statement.

The reel made a statement over the knockout wins of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ilia Topuria, and Islam Makhachev. Starting from COT 2: Cage of Truth and Cage Rage Cotenders, the SBG Ireland team fighter has had a 19-2 ratio of KO wins and losses till now. Consequently, the only person to cause it (a KO, then an injury TKO) is Dustin Poirier.

Conor McGregor has always said that when he does return, it will be the greatest thing in combat sports history. He came close to a UFC 303 PPV media kick-off presser at the 3Arena. ‘The Notorious’ promised an Irish Presidency gig would not hamper his fighting future.

His clash with Ilia Topuria has been taking up the pages more; the Spaniard used to respect him before fall from grace. Nevertheless, Topuria is aiming to follow in the footsteps of the Irishman again. He intends to capture the lightweight title, just like McGregor did after his undefeated featherweight success.

Ilia Topuria relinquishing to go up to 155-pounds and challenge Islam Makhachev also has shades of McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov reloaded. So for now, McGregor is fending a pack of rivals in place of one.

Daniel Cormier hopeful for better ending to Conor McGregor’s career

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC or any other place since his 2021 TKO leg break. Four years after, if McGregor never returns, Daniel Cormier bills that his combat sports memory will be an unfortunate one. Even other names think that telling McGregor to go five rounds in a combat return would have dire results. Away from fighting, he hasn’t installed confidence about anything much at all.

A Dublin Jury’s verdict holds him for the assault of one Nikita Hand and levied fines of €248,000 in damages. Major brands have dropped him as a media pitchman, and Irish politicians have forsaken his zeal for a run.

In his away time, it’s jumping off yatches and downing pints in MMA promoter duties. So all in all, it’s not a good picture for a McGregor hopeful. Cormier thinks that if he never were to fight again, the vivid imagery of his last loss to Poirier would blemish his memory moreover.

For me, it’s kind of sad because of this: It’s like, when a guy comes, and he’s that successful, and he’s that good, you hope that the last time you see him in the octagon is him fighting – You don’t want the last memory is him sitting in the octagon with a broken leg, yelling at Dustin Poirier’s wife. It was the craziest vision I’ve ever seen…

Per Cormier, a nicer McGregor was more preposterous than the leg-break one. His continued disses to this day, even after a loss to Poirier, are obnoxious, per the Play-by-play commentator. McGregor has kept busy as a part-owner of BKFC and, most recently, dipping his toe into Irish politics. The former two-division UFC champ met with President Donald Trump at the White House on St. Patrick’s Day, nothing that shouts a combat sports return is in the pipeline.
