Conor McGregor is free to root for Mike Perry as much as he wants to. That does not mean Jake Paul wouldn’t take notice. ‘The Problem Child’ meets ‘Platinum’ Perry in a 200-pound, eight-round traditional boxing match at Amalie Arena in Tampa this weekend. The bout streams live on DAZN pay-per-view, and ‘Notorious’ is all here for it.

On Thursday, McGregor made his first public appearance as a BKFC co-owner and co-hosted the BKFC Spain conference in Marbella alongside BKFC President David Feldman. BKFC Spain will take place on October 12th at the Marbella Arena and broadcast on Triller TV. Barring a few funny interactions, McGregor cited Perry as an example of rising to relevance after competing for BKFC.

[You] Can make a new name for yourself [ in BKFC ]...Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here – the ‘King of Violence,’ he titles himself. He’s had such a rise in the sport. Now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend, ...we’re all rooting for him.

Conor McGregor and “King of Violence” Perry have had a long-standing seed of respect for each other. During the BKFC “KnuckleMania” 4 broadcasts, Mike Perry starched UFC title challenger Thiago Alves, and McGregor announced his new role as a co-owner. Meanwhile, the duo also had a high-spirit staredown at BKFC 41, when ‘Mystic Mac’ still envisioned a BKFC move.

Now, Perry, who never challenged for the UFC title, remains the biggest hope against ‘Problem Child.’ Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) often catches flak for intentionally lining all the odds in his favor. The only loss he faced was to tested boxer Tommy Fury. Hence, McGregor sees great hope in Perry defeating Paul; the latter, though, is not prone to take on disses just by lying down.

Following the conclusion of a pre-fight news conference Thursday, Paul and Perry faced off in Tampa, Florida. Paul hits this pitstop as part of a double billing; he later faces Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, airing live on Netflix. McGregor has had some choice words dissing that down.

Jake Paul has had a contentious running with ‘Mystic Mac’ over the years on this topic and others. All the while, he has also advocated better fighter compensation, banking on his superstardom. McGregor dissing Paul at the BKFC Spain presser did not go unnoticed. The ‘Problem Child’ trashed the BKFC roster and McGregor at the final presser before facing Perry.

You’re gonna see what I’m gonna do to their best fighter on Saturday night, ...gonna embarrass their whole entire league. This guy has no skill. BKFC are just brawler, idiot, street fighter dudes, who have no idea what the sweet science is. Conor McGregor can say whatever he wants, but he won’t fight me either. You saw what I did to Nate Diaz, who you went toe to toe with.

He also once again took a shot at McGregor for not having an active ballot appearance since his 2021 leg break. Verbatim, “Get back in the fight,” and then talk the talk is what he says. Perry took umbrage with Paul’s swipe at BKFC as a whole. Their beef will turn from words to wars this weekend, live on DAZN pay-per-view.
