On Saturday night, Mike Perry added yet another accolade to his long-running list. He knocked out former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves in the first minute of their BKFC “KnuckleMania” 4 headliner. With Alves missing the ten count, the 5-0 bare-knuckle boxer got the win by TKO. In the aftermath, he had nothing but good things to say about Conor McGregor – the new owner of BKFC.

During the KnuckleMania 4 card broadcast, BKFC president David Feldman divulged the news. A video reel package showed Conor McGregor announcing that McGregor Sports & Entertainment is now the new owner of the promotion. Feldman explained that the Irishman has always loved their work and advocated their enterprising endeavor. Now, Perry had huge words of praise for the Irishman.

Thank you, man,  know you see it. We all love Conor McGregor’s fights... I mean, he’s the biggest combat sports star in history, probably besides, you know, we still love Mike Tyson... He’s still about to do something big on this Netflix thing. But Conor McGregor, nobody moved that needle like him and the Irish fans. The Irish fanbase is like the No. 1 combat sports fanbase...

Mike Perry made a case for ‘The Notorious’ being as infamous as consensus fan-favorite boxing heavyweight Mike Tyson. He faces influencer sensation Jake Paul on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Even at 58 (in July), the boxing legend does not dull down his resolve, even opening his own Boxing Club in Riyadh. Perry credits McGregor for having a similar disposition.

Consequently, he thinks of him even more. The duo had a viral staredown at BKFC 41 in April 2023. As such, ‘Platinum’ welcomes the notion of him boosting the promotion’s standing. He says McGregor and his Irish fanbase have imparted more to combat sports culture than anyone else. Given that even in his absence, he has all the official biggest buyouts to his name in the UFC.

Mike Perry reiterates being starstruck by an ‘unknown’ Conor McGregor

‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor and his entrepreneurial endeavors to boost MMA cultures and Irish native combatants are quite known. He remains an avid MMA promoter and advocate; his interest in BKFC has also caught attention over the years. The former two-division UFC champ got into talks of an executive role when he attended BKFC 41 last year.

Now, McGregor is part-owner of the promotion. A promotion the undefeated Mike ‘The Platinum’ Perry made his mark on yet again. With his 60-second knockout win (TKO; punches – left) at BKFC “KnuckleMania” 4, he has won a whopping $600K in fight purse. In two separate tweets, Mcgregor lauded the performance he saw; now Perry returns the favor, commending his new owner.

He’s just done remarkable things and I remember still to this day when he knocked out Jose Aldo, what I thought about it... I was just like, ‘Damn, bro.’ Because I knew Jose and I didn’t know Conor, so he got me back then...

Perry mentioned his acquaintance with UFC HOF and former UFC/WEC featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo. McGregor met Aldo at UFC 194, bagging his first promotional title gold at 145 pounds. Mike Perry compares his 13-second KO to the underdog-domination moment of boxer Ryan Garcia, recently wobbling the undefeated Devin Haney.

While they’d go on to spoof a staredown eight years later, this moment has struck Perry for a long while now. With McGregor having two fights left in his contractual run and BKFC allowing more crossover freedom, there might be a chance they meet again.
