“The Notorious” Conor McGregor is going to fight “The Diamond” Dustin Poirier in a long awaited rematch at UFC 257 on Fight Island, Abu Dhabi.

McGregor called Dustin Poirier out and asked if he was interested to fight him in a rematch on the condition that both the fighters would donate their match fees to Dustin Poirier’s charitable foundation “The Good Fight Federation”.

McGregor is booked to face Manny Pacquiao later this year so to matchup his style McGregor wanted to fight Poirier, earlier they weren’t going to fight in UFC, they were going to fight in a location mutually decided by both of them.

But then Dana White intervened and booked them for UFC 257, now that the fight is going to happen tomorrow McGregor stood with his promise and got in touch with Poirier’s team to transfer a massive fund of $500,000 USD.

Both these fighters have accomplished so much in their career and now they are fulfilling their duty to give back to the community.

Poirier reacts to his journey throughout the buildup for this fight

Dustin Poirier’s journey for this fight has been very long and he went through many ups and downs. Recently in an interview on Fight Island, he reacted to his journey from his last fight with Conor to this rematch.

He said he remember the emotions he felt when he faced Conor the last time, he said he got inside his head and that definitely affected his performance but this isn’t the case this time around.
