Donald Trump’s influence in the mixed martial arts world has remained significant for years through his close relationship with UFC CEO Dana White. He has also been a regular presence at major UFC events, maintaining visibility within the sport. That connection recently deepened after he invested a substantial sum intotraining and wellness company MMA Inc which is co-owned by Irish superstar Conor McGregor.
MMA Inc was created to deliver structured online mixed martial arts training programs tailored for gyms, coaches, and athletes. The company was originally founded in Australia before expanding internationally. In 2024, MMA Inc entered the public market by listing on the NYSE American exchange. Its platform focuses on digital training tools aimed at scaling MMA participation worldwide.
The company further bolstered its finances through a separate $3 million private placement led by American Ventures LLC. Donald Trump Jr participated in the offering as part of the investment group. The funding was aimed at supporting platform development and business expansion. It also created a pathway for additional capital as the company continues to scale.
According to its most recent financial filings, MMA Inc recorded a loss of $25.7 million during the 2025 fiscal year. Despite those losses, the company secured a major financial boost through the Trump family. The investment totaled up to $23 million and was structured through a phased capital agreement. The funding was intended to support operations, expansion, and long-term stability.

Beyond MMA Inc, McGregor and his longtime coach John Kavanagh have invested in Alta Group. Alta is an athlete-focused investment firm operating in private equity across sports, media, and entertainment sectors. Their involvement reflects a strategy of extending combat sports success into institutional finance. The firm targets growth-oriented companies aligned with elite athletic brands.
The ‘Notorious One’ has also built a diverse business portfolio outside of training platforms and investment groups. In 2021, he sold a majority stake in Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey in a deal valued at roughly $600 million. He later launched Forged Irish Stout and owns Dublin’s popular attraction, The Black Forge Inn pub. His most recent venture includes the launch of Notorious Cigars.
The relationship between Conor McGregor and Donald Trump now spans sport, business, and public influence. Their connection has evolved into direct financial alignment through MMA Inc. The Irishman has also recently drawn attention for engaging the US President on Ireland’s political issues. This association highlights how modern combat sports figures increasingly intersect with global business and politics.
