Conor McGregor and his internet rivals, the Paul brothers, recently got together at Donald Trump‘s inauguration ceremony. It was a shocking collaboration, given the history both parties have had over the years. As expected, there were some banter and some sneaky jabs, which entertained the fighting community.

Ahead of this meeting, McGregor had talked about fighting Logan Paul in a combined $500 million mega-fight in India. In a viral video from the meeting, ‘The Notorious’ was seen criticizing Paul for not selling the fight enough. UFC legend Nate Diaz recently reacted to the video and shared his views while backing his former rival.

After leaving the UFC, Diaz has tried his luck in boxing and has already fought Jake Paul. However, he lost the fight lost via decision. Since then, he’s been eyeing a rematch against the younger Paul. In the past, he has also shared his intentions to fight McGregor in their much-anticipated trilogy fight.

McGregor has also mentioned his intentions to fight Diaz, given the money-making potential that the fight holds. Currently, his main focus is the unprecedented money from the Ambani family. While there was skepticism around the clash, some media experts had shared positive insights about the dealings

Conor McGregor blames UFC for not supporting the Logan Paul fight 

Conor McGregor‘s UFC comeback didn’t take place last year at UFC 303. Since June 2024, here have been no updates. The Irishman has also frequently talked about his unhappiness with UFC’s delay and his inclination towards boxing. However, he is still under the contract, and it’s hard to get out of it.

With the Logan Paul fight, McGregor had plans to make millions for himself as well as for the UFC. Him representing UFC and Paul’s contract with WWE was a recipe for success. However, in a recent interview, McGregor blamed UFC for not going forward with the plan. 

The UFC just aren’t into it. The offer was there on the table, in writing….In between this waiting period that we find ourselves in before I can get back to the octagon, it made perfect sense on the calendar to go ahead with it. The UFC weren’t into it. The WWE, I’m not sure what their interest in it was.

UFC CEO Dana White has mentioned that McGregor will most probably return to UFC this year. 2024 was a massive year for the promotion and White is eager to carry the same momentum forward. It would be interesting to see how things will shape up with the parties given the new dynamics.
