“The Notorious” Conor McGregor is ready to stir up the fighting world once again, but not in the way some might think. It is not about a UFC/combat return despite how much fans clamor for it. McGregor is ready to play ‘McGenie’ in the bottle and grant some fighter wishes. This has all and everything to do with his BKFC equity ownership.

A few days back, when the POTUS Donald Trump announced a White House concept UFC card, the Irishman wanted in on the grind. Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in over four years since his 2021 TKO injury and was one of the first ones to raise his hand.

That week, McGregor said he’d have something ‘big’ in the pipeline to announce the upcoming Thursday, along with BKFC President David Feldman. Sure, that shunted the scope of his UFC return a substantial bit.

Moreover, McGregor hinted that without a UFC push, free agency and a turnover at BKFC was his ‘immediate’ goal. His bare-knuckle partner has always said McGregor’s contractual fights wouldn’t clash with theirs and they’d even want to cross over someday.

The Irish fighter didn’t give up hopes and kept thinking: what if it is a crossover sponsored fight leading up to the South Lawn? What if it’s some other joint venture? More answers came in this week at McGregor’s ‘2025 Champions Summit’ LIVE ‘State of the Promotion’ feature presser.

Do you, you… understand how incredible that is for our combatants to be rewarded in that way? [Equity and fighter pension plan]… To join this rise truly, truly be on the board with us as we rise up this ladder of combat sport…

An alternative to the promotion’s plan to implement a pension plan or bulk equity for fighters was revealed by Feldman. The BKFC head had it chalked out over the years, but admitted it was a struggle to commit to it on a massive scale.

This is why Feldman was elated at ‘big name’ Conor McGregor joining the ranks as part-equity owner and hands-on promoter. McGregor’s push and riches also were to be a big driver, and it is so, now.

Instead, the alternative that was come up with by him and McGregor was that a piece of equity in the promotion itself be offered to any BKFC champions and long-tenured fighters. He valued the ownership shares at between $100,000 and $3 million for the longest-serving champions.

Before this, McGregor had requested equity after bringing back the sport to NYC, with his biggest to date in 2016. A victory over Eddie Alvarez put him and the UFC’s current standing back on the map, big time, and he wanted to capitalize.

The Irishman poked that celebs like Conan O’Brien had equity in the company. After this momentous win, he wanted his piece in equal rights ownership as a safety net. Within months, the UFC floated adrift for $4 billion to WME-IMG, and his plans were stumped. However, at bare-knuckle practices, the Irishman means to deliver what he never got despite eight-figure paydays and PPV sales.

Despite security promises and fiery face-off, Conor McGregor left fans with a headscratcher of a BKFC promo!

McGregor Sports & Entertainment enunciated their partnership during the BKFC KnuckleMania 4 card broadcast. After which, the fighter has made an earnest push into the bare-knuckle fighting he likes as an MMA promoter. His Proper No. Twelve and Forged Irish Stout have also served as brand media sponsors for all this time.

Conor McGregor always makes it a point to push the game the best he can. The promotion has also signed impactful names like Yoel Romero (ahead of his DBX 2 stint) and Derek Brunson. ‘Mystic Mac’ was even a media promo emcee at the BKFC on DAZN: Spain weigh-ins and cut a scintillating promo at the KnuckleMania 5 pre-fight presser.

However, fiery staredowns and push for a fight aside, not all the time can the fighter be ‘Midas.’ Before grazing it with Mike Perry, and even acting as a stand-in peacekeeper, Conor McGregor rambled with an intro that left the chatboards in a flurry!

This is what we’re about at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship; the alien of combat sport…And may we rise above the night sky and rain down blows viciously on all our deniers. We announce here today that BKFC has no love for the big glove! So…let’s go Florida and let’s announce some incredible matchups, some shock signings and the most lucrative tournament in all of combat sport where we crown, in an open weight, the baddest man on the planet.

Not all can be big hits, but fight fans were left puzzled at the somewhat autonomous and outlandish delivery of words that didn’t mean heads or tails. Some on public forums even jibed at him, saying it’s like sometimes McGregor cosplays a parody of ‘McGregor.’

However, he got some footing back with his equity plans for running champs at the ‘Champions Summit.‘ The plans can now implement equity packages in the future for those like brand face Perry – BKFC ‘King of Violence Champion’, ‘King’ Kai Stewart – Featherweight World Champ, Josh ‘D-Day’ Dyer, Jessica ‘The Black Widow’ Borge, Gary Fox, and a dozen more.
