Conor McGregor insults Max Holloway over his claim of being the best boxer in the UFC
Max Holloway just gave a performance of the lifetime against Calvin Kattar. Max completely dominated Kattar over a five-round contest, where he displayed world-class striking.
These two guys absolutely blew the roof of the building in the first main event of 2021. Max landed over 400 significant strikes on Kattar he broke his previous record of 290 significant strikes which he landed on Brian Ortega.
Fans all around the world were blown away by Max’s performance even UFC fighters couldn’t believe what they saw. They were having fanboy moment over his performance; people even compared him to the great Muhammad Ali over his boxing skills.
But it looks like “The Notorious” Conor McGregor isn’t impressed by him, Holloway snapped at the commentary team during the fifth round he shouted, “I’m the best boxer in the UFC” and posted the video of the same on the tweet.
McGregor replied to his tweet and wrote “Lol.” That’s a pretty disrespectful statement from McGregor, they both faced each other during the early stage of their career and Max lost that fight, given McGregor’s statement fans are now hoping for a rematch.
Holloway is ready to serve as a replacement fighter in McGregor vs. Poirier fight
Conor McGregor is going to face Dustin Poirier in a rematch at UFC 257 on 23 January. Holloway just fought in the main event the previous night and he is going to stay in Abu Dhabi a little longer, in the post-fight interview he said he is ready to fight either of them in case anyone drops out.
Max has fought and lost the fight against both of them so he’ll be looking to make the score even in case the rematch happens.
