The ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor has been absent from the UFC for over three years, and has not yet made his return to the octagon. Despite this extended break, the Irish fighter has remained involved in various controversies surrounding the promotion. Recently, McGregor spoke out to address the ongoing backlash directed at UFC featherweight fighter Bryce Mitchell.
Conor McGregor is known for expressing his thoughts openly on social media. Alongside the numerous harsh criticisms he shares, he also frequently offers support and praise to various notable figures. Most recently, McGregor spoke out in support of UFC featherweight fighter Bryce Mitchell, who stirred controversy in the community with his antisemitic comments.

Mitchell’s comments claiming that Adolf Hitler was a good person who took necessary steps for the betterment of Germany did not sit well with many people. Notably, UFC CEO Dana White was one of the first to respond to the UFC featherweight fighter’s remarks.

Although White strongly disagreed with Mitchell’s statements, he emphasized that everyone has the right to free speech. This is not the first time Mitchell has made controversial comments. Over the years, the UFC community has witnessed several controversial statements from Mitchell.
For instance, the UFC featherweight fighter believes that the Earth is flat and has even accused the U.S. government of being responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. As a result, Mitchell has faced significant criticism from many people. Surprisingly, McGregor didn’t criticize Mitchell’s controversial comments, possibly due to their recent meeting.

Donald Trump has recently been elected for a second term as President of the United States. Just a few days ago, the Republican presidential representative held his inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. Interestingly, due to his friendship with several figures from the UFC community, he extended invitations to some of them. Notable figures such as Conor McGregor, Bryce Mitchell, Jon Jones, and many others were invited to the event.

Whenever the Irishman is present, he never fails to create a buzz within the UFC community. McGregor shared widely circulated moments with many prominent individuals, including First Lady Melania Trump. Additionally, he took the time to greet his fellow UFC fighters. As Mitchell revealed, he and McGregor even prayed together during the event.

Mitchell expressed his satisfaction with his experience on Inauguration Day and shared his mindset for upcoming matches. As a featherweight fighter in the UFC, he has an impressive record of 8 wins out of 10 fights in the promotion. Most recently, he decisively defeated Kron Gracie at UFC 310 event held in December 2024. However, as of now, there isn’t any buzz about his next potential fight in the promotion.
