Despite controversies and inactivity, Conor McGregor remains the UFC’s biggest superstar, carrying unmatched influence across the combat sports world. Currently, he has turned his focus towards the much-anticipated White House event scheduled to take place next year in June. Despite doubts from fans and experts regarding his return, McGregor has already revealed details about his upcoming fight camp.

McGregor has not stepped into the UFC Octagon in over four years, instead focusing on promoting his multiple successful businesses. Recently, the fighter appeared at the BKFC Media Roundtable, where reporters directly questioned him about his highly anticipated UFC comeback. The ‘Notorious’ still has two fights remaining on his UFC contract, with one scheduled for the historic White House event.

I have eight months and change out to the White House event. I consider it a six-month operation to get ready for this bout. That’s my focus right now. There will be a period of isolation for sure where the phone will not be answered. All my people involved with me understand it is coming… I’m under no illusion of what lies ahead in my preparation efforts. The phone will be switched off, and the work will be executed.

McGregor’s last appearance came at UFC 264 against longtime rival Dustin Poirier, where he broke his leg and ultimately lost. According to ‘Mystic Mac’, he was in incredible condition that night, but one brief lapse in concentration caused the injury. Now, the fighter is determined to return stronger than ever and prove all his doubters wrong.

UFC CEO Dana White had previously suggested McGregor would be ideal to headline the White House event. McGregor confirmed he has been in constant discussions with White, expressing readiness to resume their long-standing professional relationship built over the years. He also addressed the recent $7.7 billion UFC-Paramount deal, insisting his White House fight is already fully confirmed.

Done deal, signed, delivered. McGregor will compete in the White House for America’s 250th birthday.

Is Conor McGregor’s BKFC venture on track to reach a billion-dollar valuation?

Last year, Conor McGregor shocked fans by signing a co-ownership deal with David Feldman to join Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Since the landmark announcement, McGregor has been extremely active in promoting BKFC, appearing in media events and delivering viral signature promos. BKFC has quickly grown worldwide, with international broadcasts and sponsorships steadily increasing.

Attendance figures have also skyrocketed, as BKFC’s KnuckleMania V event in January 2025 set a Philadelphia record with 17,762 fans. Feldman has taken some major risks in making this happen and expecting the promotion to grow huge in overall valuation.

I wanna grow this thing. I love it. I really truly think it’s a $2-3 billion exit. So, I’m all in…I’m gonna tell you a secret… the Denver event that I did and Conor McGregor came in… I mortgaged my house. I didn’t have the money for that event until 3 days after the event. I did the event just rolling the dice and saying this is gonna work out, and it worked out.

Many former UFC stars have transitioned to BKFC, with fighters like Mike Perry, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez reviving their careers. Conor McGregor has openly expressed interest in competing under BKFC rules, though he needs to complete his current UFC contract first. According to Feldman, a potential McGregor versus Mike Perry showdown in BKFC could generate blockbuster pay-per-view numbers.
