Conor McGregor is yet to make his UFC comeback which was previously scheduled to take place at UFC 303. Later it was expected to take place at the end of 2024, but now it has been moved to early next year. With McGregor’s potential opponent Michael Chandler aiming for other options, the ‘Notorious’ has called out the current welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad.

Recently, Conor McGregor appeared in a livestream hosted by Duel Bits where he went absolutely wild. The fighter chugged beers and gave fans a classic McGregor trash talk show. McGregor went after everyone including Muhammad and called him out for a potential welterweight title clash. The Irishman believed that he would knock out the champion with ease. Muhammad was quick to reply and took a rather hilarious approach and reminded McGregor of the last time he fought a Muslim. 

Let’s stop this game, bro. We know you’re not coming back to fight us. We know you need help. You haven’t won a fight since 2020. The last muslim fighter you sent location, he sent you to the hospital. So stop doing this to yourself.

Muhammad was reminding McGregor of his iconic rivalry with lightweight legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The pair fought each other in 2019 when McGregor mocked Nurmagomedov’s religion and country. In return, the Dagestani mauled him in the fight and submitted McGregor in a dominating fashion.

Muhammad has also trained with Nurmagomedov and showcased a similar beatdown against Leon Edwards at UFC 304. As the first-ever Palestinian champion, Muhammad believes he could do the same to McGregor if they fought now. However, as expected when it comes to fighting McGregor nothing can be said until it’s official.

When Conor McGregor made fun of Belal Muhammad’s suit 

Other than the current direct rivalry, Conor McGregor and Belal Muhammad’s interactions in the past were more about subliminal criticism. Belal Muhammad has frequently offered criticism of Conor McGregor’s controversial behavior. This includes his arrests, numerous outbursts on social media, and his handling of defeat. Muhammad frequently drew attention to McGregor’s losses and decreased activity as indicators that he had lost his way as a fighter.

While this beef has mostly been one-sided McGregor has occasionally hit back at Muhammad. One of the most notable incidents was when the former double champion made fun of Muhammad’s suit during an ESPN show. McGregor couldn’t contain his laughter and shared it on his Instagram account.

Nevertheless, other than Muhammad, McGregor mocked the current featherweight champion Ilia Topuria. This was another layer to the ongoing beef between the ‘Mystic Mac’ and the Spaniard. While McGregor actively promotes his potential comeback, his antics don’t necessarily help in building the trust of fight fans.
