Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 2 is officially ON; set to headline UFC 257 on January 23
Conor McGregor is well and truly back. Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier has finally been confirmed by the UFC. It is set to take place at UFC 257 on January 23, and of course it will be the main-event. Dustin Poirier had signed his bout agreement last week, and the MMA world was waiting on Conor’s approval. And, today the Irishman signed his bout agreement and the fight is officially ON!
The news that Conor McGregor had signed his agreement was first broken by the MacLife and various sources including ESPN and world renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani took to Twitter to confirm it.
The rematch is officially on!
Ariel Helwani of ESPN MMA tweeted, “Conor McGregor has signed his bout agreement to fight Dustin Poirier on Jan. 23, per McGregor. Poirier signed last week. The rematch is officially on. First reported by @Maclifeofficial.“
Conor last fought Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in a welterweight bout earlier this year, where “The Notorious” made quick work of the highly experienced ‘Cowboy‘. The aftermath saw Conor hinting at a third retirement, which he eventually did on the 6th of June, 2020. Dustin, on the other hand, is coming off a victory over Dan Hooker and will be looking forward to continuing the winning momentum.
