Conor McGregor’s ‘Elvis Presley’ treatment in USA despite lawsuit highlighted by coach
Despite all the controversial incidents outside the octagon, people in the US look at Conor McGregor like Elvis, claims coach.

The Conor McGregor that once was and the ‘Conor McGregor’ that now goes on downing pints at BKFC and fighting legal battles are different. Back then, the UFC double-division champ took the masses by storm, like a flash mob. Now, with his combat return in limbo, “Notorious” is just that, but in all the wrong ways. Barring all that, his former coach believed he still maintained the same notoriety.
Losing a civil case in Ireland was a big blow. Many brands chose to not do business anymore with the Irishman. Despite that, Conor McGregor is getting a better treatment in the US, according to his former trainer. One with all the razzle-dazzle, say like Elvis Presley in the US! That’s according to Philip Sutcliffe, who is also a Dublin city councilor now.
He is like Elvis going around when he goes to America, …The reception was unbelievable. Not only in the stadium but in the shops and the pubs. It’s a different world.
Philip Sutcliffe in an exclusive to The Sunday Times
The Team SBG Ireland superstar has been out and about since his 2021 TKO injury loss to Dustin Poirier. The Dublin civil court also found him guilty of assault on Nikita Hand in 2018, levying just upward of €248,000 in damages (£206,000 /$260,000 all-in). Major Irish brands like his own Proper 12, have dropped Conor McGregor as pitchman and media face!
But that does not hinder his UFC/combat sports rep any further. Philip Sutcliffe accompanied the Irishman, a part-owner and emcee during the recent BKFC KnuckleMania 5 staredowns. While at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Sutcliffe said the crowd went wild with his presence; an Elvis-like immortal presence. It hardly felt like the pool of legal troubles had any effect.
Sutcliffe also pitched that McGregor’s Irish presidential aspirations are as true as they get. That’s going to be a crowd-seller even more. The only thing still stuck in the loop is his combat sports return.
Conor McGregor vows BKFC fight will come and names potential opponents for combat sports return
BKFC equity part-owner Conor McGregor once again vowed that he’ll fight without gloves. Still under contract with UFC and not being active since July 2021, McGregor repeated at BKFC Italy promotional duties that he has had for a while now. This time, the Irishman even named names.

Outside the UFC, BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor finds more common ground than in the octagon. Among them are notable BKFC stars from the UFC ranks. McGregor was even present at the BKFC weigh-ins on DAZN: Spain. He was a host in the new landscape and staredown mediator thrice now. After Philly and Spain, he took the grind to Italy this time.
Asked who he’d like to fight, McGregor paused for a long, dramatic moment as he considered how to answer. The first thing that came to mind was not a specific person. But rather someone who would lead him to the gold.
Yes. Yes. The warrior spirit burns strong inside me, …or sure. If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure. Conor McGregor will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – I’d like a world title in this company, …I would wish to be the Bare Knuckle world champion. That is a significant belt to hold in your career. Nobody from boxing to mixed martial arts can speak nothing bad on a Bare Knuckle world champion.

McGregor named Mike Perry, who he fired from BKFC bowels and then reiterated doing it but regressed anyway. Jeremy Stephens and a rematch against Eddie Alvarez are also top candidates in the fold. McGregor is away from the fight grind more than ever, other than MMA promoter duties. As such, at some point, he will fight in the BKFC.
