Conor McGregor has remained one of the most recognizable figures in mixed martial arts for more than a decade. His career achievements and outspoken persona have kept him in global headlines both inside and outside the sport. In recent years, attention has often shifted away from his competition toward his personal life. That focus increased after McGregor recently posted a video of their private wedding.

McGregor married longtime partner Dee Devlin in a private ceremony held at the Vatican. The couple have been together since 2008 and share four children. The wedding took place at the Church of Santo Stefano degli Abissini, within Vatican City, a location rarely used for such events. The ceremony was described as intimate, with only close family and friends in attendance.

There was no traditional media coverage surrounding the wedding due to its private nature. McGregor later shared glimpses of the celebration on social media. One video showed him and Devlin dancing with guests while smoking a cigar from his ‘Notorious Cigars’ brand. The footage also revealed a neon banner reading “House Of McGregor” at the reception.

The wedding comes at a pivotal moment in McGregor’s life outside the Octagon, with several off-cage developments unfolding in recent months. He was recently cleared in connection with a 2023 civil assault lawsuit, removing a major legal distraction. McGregor has also spoken publicly about embracing spirituality. These developments have aligned with a period of personal reflection for the Irishman.

Despite the celebratory tone, McGregor’s continued partying has raised questions about his fighting future. His lifestyle has long been scrutinized during previous comeback attempts. The Irishman has not competed since UFC 264 in July 2021, when he suffered a broken leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier. That injury marked his most recent appearance inside the UFC Octagon.

Looking ahead, Conor McGregor has remained vocal about his desire for a potential high-profile return at a rumored UFC White House event. Such an appearance would carry significant stakes for both his legacy and marketability. Ongoing partying could complicate preparations for a serious comeback, and any return would likely depend on his ability to recommit to competition fully.

Conor McGregor weighs in on Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul

The proposed boxing match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua has drawn widespread attention due to its crossover nature. Paul, who transitioned from social media to professional boxing, is set to face a former unified heavyweight champion. The bout pairs two fighters from vastly different competitive backgrounds and weight classes. Its announcement has sparked debate across boxing and MMA circles.

Concerns have centered on the size disparity and experience gap between Paul and Joshua. Joshua has spent years competing at the elite heavyweight level, while Paul is still early in his boxing career. Amid those discussions, Conor McGregor recently addressed the matchup. He acknowledged Paul’s willingness to take on the challenge before issuing his warning about the fight.

If he (Paul) makes that walk, I’ve got to give him his respect for that. It seems like Netflix are all over him. It’s a dangerous sport and you can’t overlook that. Joshua is a big boy and a powerhouse. I’ve sat ringside to watch Joshua, and that is a heavy-punching man. He’s a good person, but he has an anger in him. He has a darkness in him, does Anthony Joshua. My opinion, the fight shouldn’t go ahead. If he does it, I’ll give him his respect for that.

The Irishman’s view is informed by firsthand experience watching Joshua compete at the highest level. He was in attendance for Joshua’s 2023 bout against Robert Helenius. In that fight, Joshua secured a knockout victory with a straight right hand in the seventh round. That moment may have influenced Conor McGregor’s comments.
