Copa America 2021 Uruguay vs Colombia Player Ratings: Colombia advance to the semi-finals after a brilliant shootout performance

It was a tight encounter between two top South American nations that could not be settled after 90 minutes of normal time. There were not many chances created by either team to break the deadlock but Duvan Zapata of Colombia came the closest to give Colombia the lead.

The match went on to penalties and Colombia’s veteran goalkeeper David Ospina proved to be the point of difference between the two sides. Fernando Muslera, in charge of guarding the sticks for Uruguay, dived the right way almost every time Colombia took a penalty but was unable to stop them as they were perfectly placed. Jose Gimenez and Matias Vena were denied from the spot by Ospina as a result of which Colombia advance to the semi-finals to face either Argentina or Ecuador.
