‘Could cure cancer…’ Jamie Foxx thrashes LeBron James haters as 40-year-old faces wrath from media

Jamie Foxx jumps to defend his friend, LeBron James.

For the first time in years, LeBron James is finally firing back at the talking heads in the media. The King recently went viral over his comments about not wanting to be the face of the NBA. He also added that he can relate to younger stars like Anthony Edwards, who are reluctant to be the next face of the league since all the analysts and former players who cover the game on a day-to-day basis “sh*t on everybody.”

Since then, the 40-year-old kid from Akron, Ohio, has been receiving a lot of support from fans and friends. Recently, an Instagram fan account called @lbjhistory posted a carousel titled, “They made a Blueprint to criticize LeBron in any situation,” a series of arguments for every either-or situation LBJ finds himself in at any given moment.

Surprisingly enough, this post made its way to James’ old pal Jamie Foxx‘s feed. The Oscar-winning actor and comedian, however, wasn’t pleased even a bit by the post and let his feelings be known publicly. Infuriated with the constant negative narrative surrounding the King, the Django star commented:

If he came up with a cure for cancer, they would say yeah but what about diabetes?

Jamie Foxx on LeBron James

This comes after a series of supportive statements for James. While on ESPN’s First Take, former player Gilbert Arenas spoke in favor of the 40-year-old, while Stephen A. Smith stated he “doesn’t appreciate” LeBron’s comments. Moreover, even the NFL world showed support for LBJ. It seems like most fans are pointing fingers at SAS and the panel of Inside the NBA, who keep bad-mouthing everything.

Jamie Foxx in stitches over the truth behind the Hakeem Olajuwon slap incident

Vernon Maxwell recently made an appearance on the All the Smoke podcast and clarified some of the rumors. When Matt Barnes asked him how valid the story of Hakeem Olajuwon slapping “the sh**t” out of him was, Maxwell quickly confirmed, “a lot, a lot.” The 59-year-old, two-time NBA champion recalled how he once talked back to “The Dream” and it fired back and turned into a locker room brawl. Maxwell recounted how Olajuwon ‘slapped the sh*t out of him.’

Since then, the clip from the podcast has been going viral on social media. Jamie Foxx, who was probably on his basketball fix on Instagram, also reacted to the hilarious incident between the two teammates. He quoted one moment from the clip when Maxwell was asked if he retaliated after being hit, to which he replied, “Well.” This certainly had the comedian in splits, as he took to the comment section to write, “THE WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Jamie Foxx has been a long-time friend and admirer of James. On numerous occasions, he has imitated the King, exaggerating parts of his personality to give it a comedic effect. James, on the other hand, also wrote a heartfelt message of prayer and hope for the Hollywood star after Foxx suffered a serious medical emergency, possibly a minor stroke, in 2023. There are several off-court public instances where their bond and brotherhood are in plain sight.
