Nick Kyrgios is one of the most successful players on the grass court season this year as he made his first ever final at Wimbledon but lost to Novak Djokovic in a thriller four-set match who won his 7th Wimbledon title and 4th title in a row. He has also reached the semifinals of the Halle Open and Stuttgart Open. He reached his first-ever final as a walkover after Rafael Nadal withdrew from the tournament owing to his abdominal injury.

Kyrgios has received wildcard entries to the ATP1000 Masters event in Montreal and Cincinnati ahead of the US Open 2022. But, he recently pulled out of the Atlanta Open owing to his knee injury. Owing to his injury, it looks like there might be some uncertainty about his participation in the ATP Tour since he is currently gearing up for the hard-court swing in North America which starts on August 29.

Kyrgios recently took to Instagram giving his fans all around the world a chance to ask him questions and did a live Q&A session. One of his fans asked him a question regarding his experience of playing in his first final at Wimbledon, especially against the Serbian genius Novak Djokovic. He said “I think that if I had faced anyone other than Djokovic in the final, with the way I served that day, I would have won.”

During the finals, the Aussie star got into a small altercation with the chair umpire when he started asking to remove a lady spectator who has been irritating him and accused the spectator to be drunk. His quarter-final opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas also called him a ‘bully’ during the match with his antics to distract him. He has also been fined for his on-court antics but if he learns the art of self-composure, he will go to appear at many more Grand Slam finals and also win them eventually.

He discussed the fact that even though he played a good match, he needed to control his emotions better. He felt that he played some amazing shots and was serving pretty well. He requires to be much calmer during such crucial points of the game and will surely keep his anger in check in his future tournaments. He further added that “Honestly, I feel like my first Grand Slam final was impressive. Next time, I will try to manage my emotions better, but I realize the importance of what is at stake.
