As the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston Texas faced off each other in the opening Wild-Card game of the playoffs, they encountered an additional challenge with the sun blazing down at the NRG Stadium. This issue has been a notable concern at one specific team’s home stadium and it didn’t take the CBS announcers too long to take a playful jab at Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones

After a slow start and interception count on both the quarterbacks, CJ Stroud and Texans took advantage of the dreadful performance of their opponents and advanced to the divisional round with a 32-12 victory. During the downtime, CBS announcers Charles Davis and Ian Eagle couldn’t help but reflect on the sunspots in the first quarter, which affected players on the field.

Sun spots have moved now towards the sideline. I feel like I just want to chip in for some blinds, help them out.

Davis quickly chimed in with a witty response, “I think they’re making some in Dallas,” referencing Jones’ Cowboys home stadium, where the players have faced the challenge of bright sunlight during the games.  The banter was continued by Eagle, who acknowledged the issue, saying, “That was an issue,” while Davis added, “I heard some wide receivers there are chipping in.”

Among the Cowboys players, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been quite vocal about this issue and even demanded that owner Jones hang curtains to block the glaring sunlight at the AT&T stadium as he did for the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul

Lamb spoke on the issue after a beam of sunlight hindered his play, causing him to fail to catch a pass in the end zone, in a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles that anyway resulted in Dallas’ 34-6 loss. However, when Jones was asked about the sunspot issue, his response left fans bewildered.

By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium. I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance.

The Athletic’s Jon Machota said

He further snapped at the reporters upon being suggested to close the curtains to block the sunlight and responded with a taunt of tearing down the entire stadium down and rebuild a new one.
