Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb “still waiting” for that phone call from Jerry Jones about contract extension

Among the many problems staring in the face of the Dallas Cowboys, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and his contract extension stands paramount. They want to go deep into the playoffs after all. Owner and GM Jerry Jones and the receiver’s camp have not yet been able to pinpoint a figure that will be satisfactory for both sides. However, time is winding down as there are only two weeks left until the regular season starts.
The All-Pro receiver, along with his production crew, came out with a video to showcase his off-season work. In the start of the video, he said:

In the first part of the video, he references to waiting for the phone call from Jerry Jones. That is to confirm his contract extension. But he is not waiting for that as he has no control over it. What he can control, is to work out and stay in shape.
For the last part, CeeDee Lamb is seen travelling to different destinations, working out in different environments. For instance, running in sand on the beach is more strenuous than running on a football field. Then he tells an unknown quarterback to just throw it up and he will handle the rest of the catching phase.
This, again, suggests that missing reps in practice does not mean he isn’t ready to play ball. All he needs to do is get that contract signed and get back on the field. With all this work in, he is insinuating that he will be ready to put on his All-Pro self on the gridiron again.
CeeDee Lamb wants to match or beat the best WR contract
The problem Jerry Jones is facing is that he has waited too long. Long enough for the wide receiver market to reset with monster deals for Justin Jefferson and others. His leading wideout now wants his paper to match his elite production. CeeDee Lamb is right on his part, but Jones is not willing to bend.
The owner is known to be penny-pinching and has a history of having trouble with resigning players. That suggests that, if the Dallas Cowboys are to have any semblance of a season, they need Lamb on the field right away. As it does not matter how long he has caught passes from Dak Prescott, repetitions build momentum and play efficiency.
Jerry Jones has stated repeatedly that he is all in for his Dallas Cowboys to be successful in the playoffs. So far, the proof the footballing world has seen does not indicate anything close to those claims. They might instead match the predictions analysts have made so far.
