Dak Prescott deservedly won Tom Brady’s “Let’s F**** Go!” award as he completed 70% of his passes, threw 3 touchdowns, and recorded a quarterback rating of 130.4 in a 22-44 win over divisional rivals the Washington Commanders. During his acceptance speech, the veteran quarterback declared that the Dallas Cowboys are capable of defeating any team in the NFL.

Despite losing against the Carolina Panthers in the previous week, the Cowboys were favored by 1.5 points in their own backyard ahead of kickoff on Sunday. Prescott held a terrific 11-2 record against the Commanders (7-1 in the last 8 matchups), and completed 3,145 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions, according to Cowboys insider Clarence Hill Jr.

Prescott made it 12 wins on the day WR1 CeeDee Lamb returned to action after missing the last few games through a high ankle sprain. Lamb caught 5 passes for 110 yards and 1 score, while his partner in crime, George Pickens, had 4 for 82 yards.

When you’ve got two pass catchers like [CeeDee] Lamb and George Pickens… understanding that CeeDee was going to be back tonight. It was a great week of practice. We celebrated and had a great time on the field, and that’s what we are supposed to do.

Dak Prescott told Tom Brady of FOX Sports

The Cowboys went up against their former defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, now head coach of the Commanders. Quinn sneaked in one win after losing the earlier fixture in 2024 in the absence of Prescott, who was in rehab.

Sunday’s fixture was Prescott’s first game against Quinn, and he dropped 3 TDs and helped running back Javonte Williams score 1 on the ground. The victory improved the Cowboys’ record to 3-3-1 after seven weeks of football.

The Cowboys will travel to Washington in week 17, aiming to do the clean sweep. Before that, Brian Schottenheimer’s team has games against the 5-2 Denver Broncos, the reverse fixture against the 5-2 Philadelphia Eagles, and a duel at home against the 4-3 Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s a tough stretch of games for a team looking for postseason football after a one-year gap. Prescott isn’t afraid of facing tough opponents. In fact, the Pro Bowler believes the Cowboys are capable of defeating any team in the league.

It was a great complementary win [over Washington]. And I think that’s what we gotta take from it. First and foremost, defense did a good job, created turnovers, got a touchdown [DaRon Bland pick-6], and we were able to stack points… When we play to what we’re capable of doing, we’re going to be a very, very tough team to beat.

The 32-year-old continued his impeccable form on Sunday as well, throwing 264 yards on 21 completions and 3 scores. This marked his 40th game with three or more touchdown passes, equaling his predecessor, Tony Romo.

Prescott improved his season’s tally to 185 completions from 259 attempts (71.4%) for 1881 yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and just 3 interceptions.
