The Herd managed to survive FOX Sports’ spring cleaning because of its host, Colin Cowherd’s eye for detail. Cowherd possesses a unique skill of creating news out of nothing. Let’s unravel his latest take on Brian Schottenheimer.
Cowherd looked visibly annoyed by Schottenheimer’s dressing game, or the lack of it. He shared a photo of the new Dallas Cowboys head coach taking questions from reporters at Oxnard.
Cowherd hated that photo because Schottenheimer wore his head visor backwards. From Cowherd’s perspective, the coach of a multi-billion-dollar institution must possess basic grooming skills.
That’s a two-win team. I am taking away four wins… You are representing the Cowboys, the Bank of America, a $12 billion corporation. I think you got to do better as a head coach than a Visor backward.
Colin Cowherd said
He further compared Schottenheimer to someone working at the local furniture moving company, rather than the coach of the Cowboys.
That’s awful. That’s so bad.
Cowherd quipped
Cowherd must know that Schottenheimer has bigger fish to fry than appearing pleasing to the camera. His attire is irrelevant because his job is winning games for the Cowboys.
The veteran sports contributor/critic should focus on Schottenheimer’s ability to keep his team under control while his GM/owner wages war with his star player. Cowherd perhaps forgot that Schottenheimer laid down the law last week to preserve the discipline at the Cowboys camp.
The Cowboys beat writer, Calvin Watkins, took a shot at Cowherd by defending the rookie head coach.
Disagree 100% Schotty has the presence of a head coach.

Brian Schottenheimer gives his opinion on Micah Parsons’ trade request
Schottenheimer’s fashion sense is the least of the Cowboys’ problems when they have to deal with the elephant in the room. After months of negotiations, Micah Parsons announced that he no longer wants to play for the Cowboys.

Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys, which barely phased their 82-year-old billionaire owner. Jerry Jones, in fact, saw this as just another negotiation tactic.
Cowboys fans let their voice be heard when Jones stepped onto the field to get a feel of the training camp, while Parsons appeared with his club gear to raise the blood pressure of even the most optimistic of individuals.
Fortunately, Parsons was seen wearing his Cowboys number 11 training gear the following day, and a positive statement from Schottenheimer should calm the nerves from 100 to 99.
Still planning on moving Micah around. We got about our business every day, we live in the moment, we focus on the moment, and again, like I said, we talked to the guys the other day. I’m not gonna get a lot into it but I expect Micah to be here.

It’s one area Schottenheimer can’t control. Unless Jones and Parsons settle their differences, the ‘negotiations’ are bound to drag on until the wee hours of the new campaign.
The worst part of all this is that the Cowboys might have to start their Week 1 game against the defending champions and their biggest rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, without the two-time All-Pro and 52.5-sack player.
Yahoo Sports calculated the odds of the Cowboys-Eagles opener. The odds are (-7, 46.5). It’s fair to say that Vegas doesn’t see a Cowboys W on the opening day.
