The New York Giants fans can’t catch a break. They frequently bad-mouth the brass for allowing star running back Saquon Barkley to join the Philadelphia Eagles and now have another reason to be angry. All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons recently revealed that the Giants lied about drafting him.

As the Dallas Cowboys season ended very quickly, Parsons diverted his attention to extracurricular activities—primarily doing podcast work and giving interviews. His favorite segment of a one-on-one sit-down must be torturing a fan base with old draft stories, and his latest target was the Giants.

While speaking with Bryant McFadden of CBS Sports on Thursday, the 25-year-old gave the Giants fanbase more dirt to hate on their front office.

They lied to me. People don’t know this. They told me if I fell to No. 11 that they was going to pick me. I swear.

Micah Parsons on why he enjoys punishing the Giants

Missing out on a generational talent is heartbreaking. However, they are bound to be frustrated when they remember which player the Giants drafted instead of Micah Parsons. The Giants traded the 11th overall pick to the Chicago Bears for the 20th and 164th selections in the 2021 draft and first- and fourth-round selections in the 2022 draft.

The Bears drafted Ohio State graduate Justin Fields and used the 20th overall pick to select wide receiver Kadarius Toney. In 2022, Joe Schoen and Co. used Chicago’s first-round selection on ex-Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal. The Cowboys took Parsons at 12th.

Toney experienced an interesting career. He was out of the Giants squad after playing just 12 games. Toney ended up in Kansas City and played mainly as a punt and kick returner. He struggled to establish himself as a receiver on a team containing Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs released him in 2023.

That’s why I punish the Giants every time. It’s personal… ‘Cause when the Cowboys traded back, I was like ‘Oh shoot, I’m going to New York’.

Micah Parsons said

Toney joined the Cleveland Browns before the 2024 season but barely saw game time. After muffing a punt and taunting a Steelers player, the Browns released him in December. At least he won two Super Bowl rings with the Chiefs.

Evan Neal showed great promise at Alabama. It’s a different story at the Giants. Like most of the Giants players, he struggled massively. During the 2024 season, Neal allowed 17 total pressures on his quarterback, conceded 6 penalties, and 2 sacks. Pro Football Focus graded him 61.2.

On the other hand, Micah Parsons has been one of the best players in his position. He has yet to record below 12.0 sacks since debuting. The Penn State graduate was well on his way to setting a sack record in 2024, but injuries limited him to just 13 games.

Parsons played a total of 63 games in the NFL. He has recorded 253 combined tackles, 52.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, nine forced fumbles, four forced recoveries, nine pass deflections, and one touchdown.
