Micah Parsons resorted to damage control after his trade speculations ran rampant on social media, hinting at a deteriorating relationship with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The All-Pro pass rusher confided that the situation is completely different from what the media wants people to believe.
During Wednesday’s post-training presser from Arlington, Parsons shared a story about Jones, which has remained in the dark since February 2024. In the days leading up to the Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in Vegas, Parsons was busy attending Pro Bowl games.
As the Cowboys failed to make it past the wild card, their players had to watch the game from their couch. However, Parsons got lucky as Jones, while on his way to the Allegiant Stadium, picked him up and had a one-to-one bonding time.

Micah Parsons explained Jerry Jones isn’t like the other owners in the NFL
Jones has come under a lot of criticism over the years for failing to build a Cowboys team strong enough to win the Super Bowl since the ‘90s. The veteran owner is under immense pressure as the Cowboys succumbed to their fifth defeat in eight games this season and are on the verge of missing out on the playoffs.
Besides the on-field problems, several former players accused Jones of focusing more on making the Cowboys a cash cow instead of a competent football team. Parsons, on the other hand, quashed all the theories by siding with the 82-year-old.
Parsons quashed his trade rumors
Despite the reassuring words from one of the league’s best, it doesn’t lead him away from the fact that there’s still the possibility of the Cowboys trading him away at the end of the season when his contract runs out. However, the all-pro linebacker believes he will wear the stat again.
Cowboys DE Micah Parsons: “I still believe we can make a run.” He said he has a lot of confidence in backup QB Cooper Rush.

Parsons isn’t concerned about those who have suggested the Cowboys should trade him: “Me and Jerry (Jones) love each other. He’s done a lot of great things… pic.twitter.com/zHdigUbO2y
Parsons missed the last two games due to injury and finally had a good week of training with the Cowboys. However, there’s still doubt on whether he will play against Saquon Barkley’s Eagles in week 10. With quarterback Dak Prescott out for several weeks, the Cowboys are shorthanded in the leader department. Parsons’ availability will boost the team’s morale.
