The 2024-25 NFL season has now come down to eight teams. The eight teams are heading to Divisional playoffs this week to earn a chance at the conference game. Detroit Lions, one of the league’s oldest teams, are facing the Washington Commanders at their home after securing the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The Lions enjoyed a seasoned regular season winning 15 games, losing only to the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Under head coach Dan Campbell and a packed offensive unit, the Lions have been unstoppable – leading to a -9.5 odds of them winning the divisional round. The majority leans towards the Lions making waves but the Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons disagrees with the common notions.
In his podcast The Edge, Micah Parsons expressed his true feelings and predictions for the Detroit Lions vs. Washington Commanders game on Saturday. Parsons stated that he believes the Commanders will stage an upset victory over the Lions.

Earlier, Parsons had made a case for Daniels to win MVP for his incredible performance in his rookie year. Daniels has delivered an outstanding performance this season. As a rookie, he recorded an impressive 3,568 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, while also contributing 891 rushing yards and six touchdowns, positioning himself as the frontrunner for this year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
He maintained this exceptional form during the first round of the playoffs, throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Commanders to a decisive road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Detroit HC Dan Campbell admits stopping Jayden Daniels would be a task
The Detroit Lions have more than a game to win on Saturday against the Washington-based team. The Lions, one of the oldest teams in the NFL, has never played the Super Bowl. The last time they got close was in 1991 before the Redskins put a hold on the Lions and Barry Sanders’ dreams. They have now gotten a chance to atone for that.
When asked if he agreed with the notion that the Lions struggle to defend mobile quarterbacks ahead of Saturday’s divisional-round matchup against Jayden Daniels and the Commanders, Dan Campbell responded with a question of his own: “Do you buy that?”

Campbell admitted the significant challenge that Daniels presents for Detroit’s defense, noting his dual-threat ability as the Commanders’ leader in both passing and rushing this season. He described Daniels as a composed and intelligent player who does not perform like a typical rookie quarterback.
Campbell highlighted his field vision, decision-making, and ability to extend plays with his legs, emphasizing that Daniels runs the offense effectively and benefits from a strong supporting cast.
