Besides his prowess that is portrayed on the field, there is another thing Micah Parsons is known for: his unfiltered thoughts. That’s probably why The Edge with Micah Parsons hosted by him always occupies the top headlines with 4.5 million subscribers on YouTube. However, lately, the podcast has been getting a lot of negative limelight as critics ask him to focus on football instead.

Former New York Giants pass rusher, Chris Canty had some harsh words for the All-Pro linebacker on ESPN’s First Take. While discussing his contract situation with the Dallas Cowboys, Canty suggested the franchise should trade him as he has spoken about his team in a derogatory manner on his podcast, which affects the culture.

Although Stephen A. Smith handled Canty quite well, Parsons too had some words for him, though he didn’t address them directly to him. He shared a tweet on X in response to the criticism of his popular podcast with a crucial question he wonders.

Lol I wonder do people hate my podcast because it’s actually good or do people hate it because it’s bad?? Because hella people in the nba and NFL have podcast and no one has a problem.

The Edge with Micah Parsons podcast may have been on the uprise in the sports community, but it hasn’t affected the edge rusher’s performance. In the season where the entire Cowboys team struggled leading to the collapse of 7-10, Parsons finished with a solid 12 sacks– fifth most in the league, while also carrying the defense on his shoulders.

Lawrence Taylor and DeMarcus Ware urge Micah Parsons to focus on the field over podcasting

The reason why Parsons didn’t specifically address Canty in his X post is because the former NFL linebacker isn’t the only one criticizing his podcast. NFL legends DeMarcus Ware and Lawrence Taylor also critique it, stating that the football player should focus more on the game and less on his podcast.

“He’s a great player. But guys, let’s do more. Let’s play more football and less podcasts,” said the legendary pass rusher, while the former Cowboys star took a more direct approach, saying, “He probably won’t be doing it during the season, I know he won’t be. Because he’ll be too focused on getting to the quarterback and just wreaking havoc in the backfield.”

This isn’t the first time the four-time Pro Bowler has been advised to focus more on the field. During the regular season in November, Parsons’ podcast also caught a lot of attention due to his harsh remark on head coach Mike McCarthy following a poor loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which drew quite a handful of backlash from analysts.
