The Dallas Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers in their NFC Wildcard match by a score of 23-17 which shattered all their hopes of making the Super Bowl after a promising regular season that had leveled up the expectations from the Cowboys of everyone.

This devastating loss was very hard to take for everyone whether be the players or the fans who were seen crying in the stadium on national television.

As their season is now over, Cowboys RB – Ezekiel Elliot revealed that he played through a partial PCL tear in his right knee but won’t be needing any surgery in the postseason. Elliott suffered the ailment on October 3 against the Carolina Panthers.

Ezekiel Elliot said, “I was going out there and doing what I needed to do for my team. I feel like everyone else in that locker room would have done the same.”

It was hard,Elliott said. “It’s never fun being banged up. But it’s my job to make sure I get my body right and be ready for this team, for the fan base, and for the coaches. It’s hard, but that’s my job.”

For a better part of this season, Ezekiel Elliot looked like a different player who lacked his explosiveness which was seen in the past few seasons where he was nearly unstoppable.

I just partially tore my PCL this year, Elliott said. “It was an injury that wasn’t going to get worse, but it was just going to take time. … I was just doing my job. I was going out there and doing what I needed to do for my team. I feel like everyone else in that locker room would have done the same.”

In this season, Ezekiel Elliot rushed for 1002 yards with 10 touchdowns while also recording 287 receiving yards with 2 receiving touchdowns, In the NFC Wildcard match against the 49ers, Ezekiel Elliot rushed for just 31 yards.

Dallas had Pollard to play for Ezekiel Elliot but they did not use him in the game which could have made some difference as Pollard was fit and had been good in the regular season for Dallas whenever he was called upon.

Another season ended for Dallas Cowboys which had the potential to be something big but got derailed early as they were outclassed by the San Francisco 49ers and were given a reality check that no matter how good you have been in the regular season it doesn’t matter in the playoffs when the lights shine the brightest.
