Cowboys signing Parris Campbell hasn’t impressed the fans one bit – “Just trying to keep up their losing streak huh?”
After passing on several experienced and established wide receivers, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys signed journeyman Parris Campbell for a one-year deal.

Parris Campbell signed with his third NFC East team in three years after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. The fans weren’t expecting any big-money signings, considering Jerry Jones’ very frugal business dealings, but they aren’t especially thrilled with Campbell, considering he can barely tie down a starting position wherever he goes.
The Cowboys needed an experienced head in the locker room after veteran Brandin Cooks entered free agency. They currently boast CeeDee Lamb, who is earning $30 million a year—acquired Jonathan Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick from the Panthers in exchange for a fourth-round pick in 2025, re-signed speedster and punt return specialist KaVontae Turpin, and have Jalen Tolbert, who is set to enter into the final year of his rookie contract.
The Cowboys showed interest in signing Super Bowl winner Cooper Kupp after the Rams released him, but his salary demands were out of their budget. When Kupp was no longer available, the consensus turned to re-signing either Amari Cooper or recently unretired Michael Gallup.

However, Jones played it safe and went for a much cheaper option. The Cowboys signed Parris Campbell.
Cowboys fans are unhappy with Jerry Jones for signing Parris Campbell
Campbell isn’t exactly someone who has set the NFL on fire after the Indianapolis Colts drafted him in the second round in 2019. Injuries limited his playing time during his rookie year, recording just 18 receptions for 127 yards and one touchdown in seven appearances.
The misery continued the following two years, starting just eight games. His best numbers arrived in his final campaign in Indiana, recording 63 receptions for 623 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Colts didn’t extend his contract, and he signed with the New York Giants, with whom he appeared in 12 games, notching 20 receptions for 104 yards and zero scores. The following year, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was released during the roster cuts.
Initially, Campbell declined to sign with the practice squad but accepted the invitation and played a total of five games and all three playoff games. He made very little contribution and not to mention won Super Bowl LIX before entering free agency.

Campbell played 49 games, caught 123 passes for 1117 yards, and scored 6 touchdowns in his six-year stint in the NFL. As soon as the Cowboys announced that they signed Campbell to a one-year deal, fans vented their frustration on social media.
So the Cowboy’s are just trying to keep up their losing streak huh?
